I agree football is by far the worlds most watched game. But using Manchester City as an example was probably not a good choice. Especially with all the finger pointing at FIFA and corruption. When the finger of corrupt practices starts to look elsewhere the English Premier league and Manchester City will come under the spotlight. Another reason you should have chosen another club is because Manchester City have no fan base at many home games there are banks and banks of empty seats. If your going to extol the virtues of the beautiful game, choose a big club as your example.

Big club? We are.
Just checked 98.2% capacity last season would be higher but we had work done on our stadium.

NFL/CFL/NCAA would be better if they played One Platoon Football handmade players have to play offensive and defensive with no specialists team plus one allow the Qtr back 2 forward passes per qtr.
Get it back to it's Rugby roots but stile different.

Aye those supporters only started turning out for you guys after you won the league, before then large sections of empty seats & the bitters used to call us the glory hunters.
BTW Football is the best sport in the world & that comes from a die hard F1 fan.
Penalties are a great way to end the game, it's horrible for the supporters of the teams involved but for the neutral it's great entertainment.

You do share a city with the biggest sporting team in the world, it makes it difficult to find new Berties.

Takes the most skill, seriously
Think about that comment just a little bit

I know of an elite athlete who was at the pinnacle of his sport, left that sport and became a world champion at another
Never seen a hockey player do that

Mike Jordan was a wizard at basketball but a duck at baseball, heard many people say he was the best athlete ever

To get to the top at any sport you have to develop your skills, to suggest one sport is better than others, hardly

I say golf

And most Americans will vote for trump or Hillary
Sure as hell doesn't mean they are any good

If your choice is crap or crap, you will go with the crap

golf is not a team sport. Although yes it is very hard.

If we are talking non team sports the hardest is skateboarding hands down no questions asked.

Golf you have no risk of injury.

The athlete who left his sport and joined another. What sports were they? Football and baseball? Football is easy, you just have to know how to run and catch, basketball easy, run catch and throw, baseball you can be a fat ass and be good at.

Hockey takes years to even learn how to shoot the puck correctly and learn to skate well enough to even compete with children.

Hockey's where it's at, soccer's a little duil but acceptable in a pinch, and as for American football.....Let's be honest. 22 guys in tights slapping asses? If I wanted to see that, I'd find better gay porn.

I find it amusing when an American calls a particular sport either boring or terrible.

To my knowledge America has never invented one single sport ( game )

Please correct me if i am wrong.

balls, or no brains.. I never understood the point in riding a wild animal for 8 seconds, or standing in a ring stabbing a bull until it dies...

Actually, bull riding is far more fair than bull fighting. The bulls almost always win in bull riding, and they have fan bases as much as the cowboys, if not more so.

I do occasionally watch a PBR event here and there, and they introduce and run stats on the bulls every bit as much as the cowboys and you see fan posters for them.

There are just as many concussion in soccer though. It's just less publicized because everyone wants to call soccer "civilized" while the popular perception of football is that it's a blood sport.

A coworker's friend's daughter, for example, took a shot to the head and spent her entire Christmas holiday not able to recognize her own family members with the mentality of a 3-year-old because of the resulting concussion ... you know ... from soccer because it's so much safer.

Basketball (I live in the land of Naismith)

Baseball (American version of cricket)

Softball

Volleyball

Water Skiing

Wiffle Ball

Windsurfing

Snowboarding

Skateboarding

Natives invented LaCrosse

American Football (our own version of rugby)

NASCAR

Monster Truck Rallies (bout as 'Merica as you can get)

Paintball

Basketball was invented by a Canadian

Volleyball is a derivative of the Scandanivian game of Handball

Baseball is the American version of The English Schoolgirls game of " Rounders " not cricket. Rounders was originally called " Baseball " back in Gerogian times.

Nascar is similar to Le Man but began 20 years later.

I think the others you listed are more passtimes / leisure activities.

I could be wrong though.

It doesn't matter the sport, to get to the top a person must be extremely skilled in what Sport they compete in
No one sport is more skilled than another, people are skilled in their own sport
Train a kid on the ice and they will be good ice skaters, put him on a basketball court and he will probably be a cluts

It's a my sport is better than your sport argument and it's silly

To get to an elite level, every player on that sport must be highly skilled

I bet a ice hockey player would look silly playing hockey or Aussie rules footy, it would show their sporting skill levels are that of a child

And no, not football and baseball, not US

Brilliant I've got one, I'll tell you why you have a 98% attendance figure and why the seats are empty but sold as you say, corruption!
Let me explain,
At about 5:30 pm on a Saturday evening all the days attendance figures are published with the exception of one team! Can you guess? Yes Manchester City. and your right all the seats are sold because the owners use a shelf company to buy up all the empty seats after the game. Later that week they publish their attendance figures and your right 98% capacity but we all know there were 20000 empty seats. They do this in order to comply with the football fair play league as they have to show an income commensurate to what they spend.
Same as the recent £800 million shirt deal by Etihad airline. For those who don't know the deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates owns Manchester City and the prime minister of the United Arab Emirates owns Etihad Airlines. The club is basically owned by the United Arab Emirates and the shirt deal was done again to comply with the FFPL. the FIFA corruption scandal is not going to go away they will naturally have to look elsewhere and your day will come, so enjoy your 15 minutes of fame.
