That's a setting in your site preferences.

You can set it to display the date the American way: dd/mm/yyyy

or you can display it the way much of the rest of the world does it: mm/dd/yyyy

or you can even display it other ways: yyyy/mm/dd

If you look at 99% of my 7000+ posts...I almost exclusively use 3...myself....for the very point you thought...you were making to me...in this thread...and others.
