They remain in power because Americans have their reality shows, their internet and their cell phones. The Romans were very good at placating the masses just keep them entertained and the elite can do as they please. Also it doesn't help that over the decades Americans have become fat, lazy and stupid. Just look at the nominees for both parties if that doesn't prove how stupid Americans have become then nothing will.

When I first that he said that, I was thinking he meant that the 2A groups are better organised politically and are consistently pursuing court cases to protect their rights.

It doesn't surprise me that liberals automatically assumed it was a call for assassination. I think that says more about them than it says about Trump.
