Are you worried about the local council meetings in Pensacola, Florida? Maybe they'll adopt his ideas, maybe they won't.

I'm sure if someone showed up with a pasta dish on their heads they'd be, just like this robed clad rebel, 'taking a piss'.

They won't hear what he has to say, they'll only see a caricature.

Of course they wont hear - he was drowned out by the well dressed (cult) Christians

The tone of how I meant even doesn't come across in type. lol. taking the mickey a bit.

Maybe I am taking the mickey - I was just in battle with a derailer in a thread about angels, hence I'm over religion for another night....hehe

Taking a piss is just having a wee taking the piss is meaning to take liberties at the expense of others, or to be unreasonable.
.
I think it just shows why we need religion any religion out of politics worldwide.
Look where it gets some countries including the past in mine.

No-....the article clearly spelt out the monetary consideration

after President Charles Bare determined that refusing his request to make the invocation would lead to possible litigation.

I agree with him. I'm a Christian(guess I'm a cult member?).
One of the first lessons in effective communication is to know your audience. This dude was unwise in his chosen method of communicating his ideas. Regardless of how reasonable his ideas are they'll be lost. That's on him.

As someone who was raised in a Catholic household with super strict parents and grandparents who were strictly Southern Baptist, I think this is wonderful whether or not he is "taking the piss". All religions should be respected equally as long as they are not actively hurting anyone or hindering someone else's right to practice their own religious beliefs.

Good on him

If you let church into the town meeting they will disrupt it, manipulate it, try and control it to their religious view point.

Founding father understood this all to all from Europe (King and Pope). Thats why the separation of powers (especially religion).

He did it to show that prayer doesn’t properly belong in politics. He returned to the podium later during Thursday’s meeting, the radio station reported, and condemned the council for giving religion such a prominent role in its proceedings.

www.washingtontimes.com...

Yeah, it's amusing because we know what church less states impose, they are all great places
China under Mao, Stalin and the USSR and Pol Pots Cambodia

Love the secular state and the beautiful community's they all created.

That's amusing isn't it, belly laugh stuff

The only thing worse than a Christian fundamentalist is an atheist fundamentalist

100 plus million lives...

No, God forbid, I don't want a theocracy, did you not read my post.
I also don't want a state only political system, there needs to be balance

Did you miss what I said about the over 100 million people dead because of state only political systems, 100 million plus dead by atheist systems

I am bringing it up simply because in country's where there is a majority of people who have a faith then faith should be part of the system
Don't you believe that everyone has a right to a vote and an opinion, sounds like you need a Stalin

Keep church and state separate, keep Christians out of politics, don't let Christians run or vote, any religious person for that matter.
You sound like a dictator

Then isn't the best idea like the guy says is to have a moment in silence where each person can pray in silence to whatever they follow.

OMG I said keep church and state separate can you show me where I said keep Christians out of politics? don't let them run or vote?
You sound like a liar.

My brain hurts
Please tell me how you can keep church and state separate if you have church goers elected in the political system and they also vote, unless you ban them.
It can't be that hard to understand, surely?

I may sound like a liar but you sound like you don't think.

As to how and what they do, it's not my position to say, I am not a dictator, I don't decide

Easy like many secular government systems...you can still practice your religion just in your own time it has no place in government.
Which one do you choose? would you like Muslims or Hindus opening meetings?.

No
Like I said, I would prefer Stalin, Mao pol pot in charge, you know those secular systems that murdered over 100 plus million people in the name of no gods

You will get there, keep trying, thinking, pushing your mind

As i said, it's not my decision to choose, why is that hard to understand

Not going into your usual bs. If you can blame the deaths on atheism I can blame the death in ww2 on christians seeing Hitler was a christian.
There are many secular governments which are democracies you are talking about dictatorships very different.

We could argue Hitlers faith, he was not a christian, you can say he was and that's fine

100 million plus dead from atheist governments. Stop the religious voting if you can, ban all religions, do as you wish

This ain't worth it
