You said you're not voting, so I can only assume you also mean at the State and local level. And since ballots usually include things like votes on single issue referendums & amendments to State constitutions, there are elements of pure democracy here, too.

But since you based your entire OP on the Presidential candidates, it gives the impression that the Presidential candidates alone are the determining factor on whether you'll vote at any level. Hence my reply.

And why not just write in Petersen or McAfee as your vote? That's literally the point in having the option to write in candidates. Instead, you're saying you won't vote at all simply because the most popular candidates aren't to your liking? That makes it sound like you're waiting for a savior or a perfect candidate.

It only takes one vote either way to sway the outcome....for or against

I view the Bill of Rights as my basic core rights. Most of the remaining amendments simply reinforce the first 10.

I would probably sacrifice other rights to defend the Bill of Rights, but maybe you could be more specific.

Still? Vote. Because if you dont? Youve got no right to complain about things...some choice, huh?!

Actually, I have freedom of speech, so I don't need to earn that right by voting.

I guess you're right about that. Local elections have greater local impact than the presidential. Either way, I'm still pissed off, because this year the two main candidates are so repulsive that 3rd Party actually has a chance, but the nomination was wasted on two Neocons. So write-ins wont stand a chance. Maybe I should have put this in the rant forum.
