Obama's actions weren't acceptable. But the nation of Iran is not a terrorist organisation.

Kennedy tried to mess with Israels nuke weapons program and you know what happened to him. Not to mention they own or have dirt on virtually every politician.

I do have my theories on the Arc of Instability in the ME, and why
Saudi is always a friend. I tend to lean to the view that its a New
World Order goal in mind by those who are typically in power

Also sponsoring terrorism does not make you a terrorist organisation, merely a state that happens to fund some form of terrorist activity. This would apply to practically every country within the past 80 years.

"Terrorist Organization" is a rather new term, likely introduced at the time
of Al Qaeda when for the first time "terrorists" were deemed to
be based on a set of ideals and actions not State Sponsered.

I think on the 80 years and all encompassing, I would have
a different opinion.

According to the Journal, Justice Department officials raised concerns that the timing of the transfer would make it appear to be a ransom payment for the detainees. The officials did not object to the settlement itself.

"People knew what it was going to look like, and there was concern the Iranians probably did consider it a ransom payment," a person familiar with the discussions told the Journal.

Oddly, one of those detainees we American taxpayers "paid" Iran to release is staying in Iran!!!!!! He went back to his apartment and opted to continue living there!!!!!

Very little is known about him. His name is Nosratollah Khosravi-Roodsari.

Three of the others are: Jason Rezaian, Marine veteran Amir Hekmati and Christian pastor Saeed Abedini.

Also, note that Iran, after receiving our money for the "prisoner exchange" detained two more Americans. I will assume that when the next installment comes due, Iran will use these other two as leverage.

Also note that Obama made a settlement with Iran. This case had been in the courts for 20 years. Suddenly Obama decides to settle it?? Saving American taxpayers money??? Really??

I thought this was a hoax when I first heard about it, but it appears now that it is true.

Why is this not news worldwide as the leading headline and why has Obama not resigned? It's incredible that he could get away with jail time, never mind staying in office.

The president never said this.
The money belongs need to Iran and was being held in the Hague since 1974.
I remember the whole hostage situation while Carter was president.
We were supposed to be providing arms to Iran then they took those students hostage. We collected the money and put it aside. Iran has been asking for it ever since.
