If you are going to Exclude the Mandela Effect threads for stupidity, then i will quickly point out the predudicious aspect of your allegation, you have been a member for as long as i have, and you should know that stupidity helps us truth seekers refine our overall goal.

That's a very important point you've got right there. People tend to get very serious around these parts, and we forget that we should be enjoying ATS. If anyone's visits to ATS becomes a frustration, invokes constant anger or leads to the need for medication, then you are doing it wrong.

In the end, it's all just pixels on a screen. Look at it:



Does it make you angry?
You shouldn't allow stupid pixels to have any power over you, now should you?

And in some cases , ATS has provided a recourse. It is called the "alert" . It is found by clicking on the little "green man" right below the avatar . No need to get that upset yourself. Let a moderator take care of the situation.

I'm not upset I just think simplifying things to 'pixels' is a wrong approach. Pixels, words, sentences all have meaning, they all effect the brain and our behavior, that's why advertising works so well.

I do of course use the alert function when I read pixels which I find offensive.

Yes that is true. The point is what did those pixels (read thoughts and opinions) do to you personally? Did you allow it to make you angry? What did you achieve by getting angry? Did you tap out an enraged response telling the poster what an idiotic, bigoted muppet he is resulting in your post being removed snowballing your anger? Did you calmly type a response listing fact after fact proving that the poster's opinion is complete and utter claptrap. Or did you click the alert button and got a very satisfying feeling seeing the troll's post disappear because it's against the T&Cs?

I get what you're saying with the complete and utter nonsense being posted on ATS, but you've been here long enough to know it has always been here. Hollow earth. Flat earth. Hoaxed moonlandings. Holographic 9/11 planes. Reptilians. (Did I push enough people's buttons yet?) You get the idea. The point is that it's up to you and me to intelligently take the nonsense apart. BUT the neutral objective readers that happened upon the thread gets both sides of the story and if you did your part then it's their minds you would've changed.

No, no, no, no.... Those references were to show how words are not only pixels (as suggested by a poster), to show how words have an important and great effect on humans behavior.

Nothing to do with comparing multiple realities to racism.

I'm happy to read about, learn about, multiple universes and realities.. That's science and science is good for the mind.

However, someone who has not learned the correct date/spelling/geographical location of something, they then put it down to a 'time shift' or whatever, rather than going with the most highly likely (and provable) answer (fallible memory) - this - this is not science.

It's stupidity. It's as arrogant, if not more, as suggesting a topic is stupid and should be censored.

I have been around this site in one fashion or another since its start. I have always said "If I win the lottey , I will personally fund ATS for the next 100 years" . And that is a promise. And I am a man of my word. What has made this site the best is you can come here and basically start a thread on anything (well , within T&Cs anyway)

Lets take the OPs post. The Mandela Effect ( I am going to play my own devil's advocate) . Say that something strange really is occurring . No one at this point has a complete understanding of time relative to the dimensions . What if it is a fact , and only certain people have the ability(?) to recognize it ? And I am stating it does not exist , as I am one that does not have the sight (like Mama Murphy) . Who really knows ?

Holy. #. Holy #. I think I may have seriously jumped timelines. See, I had originally remembered Jupiter Ascending. I had seen it in a commercial and I was captivated by the name. Some time ago, maybe around September of 2015, I found out that it was Jupiter Rising. I was a little taken aback, and definitely thought it was a ME since I had just found out about the Berenstæin Bears just the month before, but my rational self thought, hey, maybe it's just a faulty memory (even though Jupiter Ascending sounds way better but w/e). And so, I accepted Jupiter Rising. And I was fine with Jupiter Rising. But now I find out that it's Jupiter Ascending again.

Thx Wendigoon for the backup here. I'm pretty good with movie trivia and celeb stuff..memorywise and knew it had changed. Since getting put up on Netflix cause when it was first on a few months ago for me Jupiter Rising.

You see when I went to watch this movie jupiter rising it just didn't exist at all... then jupiter ascending came and went and it didn't even come out when the preview said it would..

then I did lots of research and discovered something that was the weirdest thing my life has ever had...

It is very hard for me to find anyone who remembers Rising.
BUT if that was the only movie you wanted to see all year and you kept trying to find the movie online to no avail you might get it too..

Dunno if it's plausible it's alt universe's bleeding over or MORE probable that little inter web bots are scrubbing info clean off the 'net.

Plenty of times now it's safer to take screen captures of important info as things disappear or get changed. Since so many youngers are tied to their devices instead of books or other hard copies of info to them of course the ME is a real thing.

Us geriatric peeps who don't depend on google analytics aren't misremembering anything.
The "net is fluid and info comes and goes, gets changed etc...

Giving it a name, ME just makes it a "thing" which it really isn't.

Now give me Zombie apocalypse and I be all over it, because even my husband is caught up in it a month ago I would no have care about it either.

So what exactly is it that infuriates you so much about those that claim to believe in it?

I am open to the possibility but I have experienced it myself, I have very clear memories that do not match this timeline and it's hard to get my head around, given the possibility of a multiverse is it not at least possible that one could somehow get bumped into an almost idendical universe?

Wibbbly wobbly sciency vortex kind of things would be needed but I am open to that possibility although it does seem a little unlikely?
