Regarding spontaneous combustion:

I used to work at a cemetery and crematory. It takes very high temperatures to cremate a body, you're right about that. It also takes a long time. But, when a body is cremated, it does not turn into ashes. All the flesh melts and vaporizes into the air, and all the bones are left behind. The bones are all that's left, no ashes. A second machine crushes the bones, and that's what families receive as ashes. It's crushed bone. So any process that reduces a body entirely to ashes is a different process entirely. The cases of human combustion I am familiar with seemed to be a bizarrely localized but otherwise conventional fire.

My opinion on souls (because there's no suchthing as a fact about souls): everything that has consciousness has a soul. I think the soul is where awareness comes from.

But yet there are cases where people turned to ash in just minutes. That doesn't quite fit the 'conventional' fire.

I agree. It would take a humungous amount of energy to turn bones to ash. Short of a full power phaser blast i wouldn't dare to guess, but;
I did explain recently about the amount of energy that surrounds us, in theory there is enough energy in an empty cup to boil all the world's oceans. I thought that 22Gw per cubic mm of empty space was a very conservative figure back then. It could be a lot more.
The only question is, how was that potential energy converted to (in this case) thermal energy?
There would have to be a catalyst involved, something that converted or focussed that energy.
I rule out demons, so we're back to the cosmic ray lensing i guess......

Toasters have souls too:

No they actually don't, they're part of the infinite non corporal energy. Infinity is infinitely everything, and every variation of everything, including energies. Intellect is infinite intelligence. Toaster is just ai, part of the rendering here of the matrix. And its not souled.

No, the soul isn't useless. The human, limited perception of it, is....

Seriously though, If you don't want your soul and think it is useless. Give it to this guy. Plus soulless animals attacks everyone they see, unless they are full of parasites which is an entirely different thing.

So what evidence do you have for having a soul or not having one, for animals, humans, or that rock over there *points* ?

You can't quantify what a soul is or does, so how do you know it is "useless"? It might be doing just fine.
