Trump refuses to release Tax Returns that Are Not being Audited

It really isn't anyone's business except Trump and the IRS. I don't know why we even expect candidates to reveal their business dealings and secrets. He's just going to be President. After the last few he can't do worse.

I don't really expect him to get much anything earth shaking done until his second term after his constituents clean most of deadwood from the House and Senate.

The funny part is the first part of the vid is from a Conan bit. When people starting commenting on this or noticing it, they literally get away with laughing about themselves being so controlled.

The second part was a classic Bush'ism type reaction. "well, if that's the way it should be, they should do what they were doing in case they want to do that, so long as its legal they should be operating with legality, pretzels?"

Bush was probably the most transparent president by being so bad at spinning yarn. He clearly showed how well manipulated government was. And he was great comedian fodder.

Also the biggest stooge or very close... in history of presidents. (Except I question the current president, as he's managed to create one of the most polarized atmospheres in a lifetime. Though some of that may also be attributed to whom before him.)

Why people are not more demanding out of their own candidates I don't know. Just as police need to drop the thin blue line, if you have a public leader, and you pick and vote for them, you should demand certain things from them. Transparency, etc -Though I think we are way past that time. Maybe if it started a long time ago.

I haven't heard anyone say he should not release his tax returns. But he is under audit. Have you ever been under audit from a government agency? Trust me, you keep everything limited and only present what the investigators ask for. Those folks are being paid to find something wrong. You don't give them more help to nitpick.

I want to confirm that Hillary as a responsible Senator and Secretary of State. Both positions represent the interests of American citizens and carry high amounts of responsibility and accountability.

I tell them that they will have to be patient until the audit is over. If Trump does not present the information afterwards, then he is indeed hiding something.

Perhaps you should complain that the IRS is taking too long.

Will the IRS hide behind privacy laws and refuse to authenticate and verify them...the suspense is killing me! My bet is that this will be a story the media actually takes seriously, *ahem* he isn't a democrat, after all.

Why is Lying Donald such a special snowflake, that he should be the first nominee in 40 years to withhold such information, especially after promising the American people that he had no problem releasing his tax return? How can he pretend to hold any high ground over his opponent, if he can't even meet equal vetting standards of the two candidates.

Have to? No. No one has to. It's a courtesy and you can simply not vote for Trump if you don't like that he's refused to show his.

He's not special. Don't vote for him if you don't like that he refuses to release his tax returns or releases some tax returns that the IRS refuses to authenticate.

That's the same recourse every other voter gets when candidates do not respond to voter calls for certain records and information.

Let me see what do I imagine is in them. Perhaps a rich man pays several not as rich as him but richer than me people to make sure that as little as is legally possible is paid? That would be shocking. Given the reaction to Romney's tax returns by both the media and the Democrats I don't blame him. I'm sure whatever write offs and exemptions that are used had to have passed congress, that had both democrats and Republicans in it, but why risk the optics when all the democratic propaganda wing known as the media is looking for is something to use as a cudgel to hit him with?

Personally I don't care. If I had enough money to require tax accountants and lawyers, I'd expect them to use any legal means to minimize how much of my money the government gets to waste.

I would like to see trumps taxes.

I would like to see the books for the Clinton foundation to see where that money goes.

I would like to see obamas college admission forms and grade transcripts.

I would like to see al gores carbon footprint.

Therein lies the paradox that is Trump though...
