Similar security measures were in place for both conventions. There was already a thread that looked at both.

Here's the one thread ATS . Both the RNC and DNC receioved 50 million each in federal funding for the conventions. The security measures are at the advice of local and state authorities.

There were a few threads about this. Both the ssame for both conventions.



The planning is headed up by the DHS.

ETA: A quick google search didn't turn up any spectacular news stories about rioting or anything at their convention but I do have to admit that the first story I found makes it look like a very interesting event and far more fun than the donkeys or elephants.

so this how the liberals open borders policy is going to work? with them being protected 24/7 while the rest of us are left to fend for ourselves against the criminals and terrorist that come into the country. It`s easy to be virtuous and call for open borders when you live in gated communities and have 24/7 armed security where ever you go.

It`s ironic that they have built an armed fort in the city who`s motto is " the city of brotherly love" to protect them from their fellow american citizens. imagine what they will do to protect themselves from the hoards of terrorists and criminals that will invade the country through the open borders that they are pushing for. i wonder if us common people will be afforded the same protections or if we will be left to fend for ourselves.

The difference is that the republican leadership admits that open borders will create a dangerous situation for we the people whereas the liberal leaders who are safely locked away in their gated communities with 24/7 armed security where ever they go is telling us how great it will be for we the people to have open borders.
