Ronald Reagan's political hero was FDR and Reagan was a staunch Democrat until the early 60s. Let's be honest here, politicians change as they mature and as parties and other politicians become more out of line with their priorities and platforms. Politics are the ultimate "what have you done for me lately" contest and, lately, Trump has upheld and supported conservative ideals so he's in a solid position.

I'm not so sure he has upheld those ideals. I'm of the opinion that a combination of propaganda and the sheep-like reception of it has led to a large chunk of people convincing themselves that Trump will be their savior, because if not, we're all screwed. Sorry to disappoint but it's the latter...

I expect the anti-Trump desperation to hit a fever pitch now.

It's all a big joke. I don't take it too seriously. Still voting Trump.

Most entertaining election ever.

Yeah, it ain't rocket surgery folks.

We already know for 100% certain that at least one side of this election was rigged. And we also know that newly media minted right wing extremist Donald Trump, a life-long democrat and long-time friend of the Clintons, gave copious amount of cold, hard cash to the Clinton foundation. That we also know the Clintons used to buy political influence the world over to ensure their eagle talon grip on U.S. politics.

I'm always amazed that people find the idea that the Clintons would unleash Trump on the GOP to tear them down from the inside that far fetched. Have they not been paying attention? It's been their M.O. to be relentlessly ruthless since the days of Little Rock. And when they got embarrassed by Obama in '08, you knew damn well they were going to leave nothing to chance this time around.

I believe we've seen that play out thus far.

2+2=5

Yes. Thank you. Why people are choosing to ignore the obvious could only be explained by Freud himself.

But nobody is claiming he's the good guy? He is the lesser of 2 evils.

you cant seriously think that people believe that in a country of over 300 million people that he is the best pick?

As i said, He is merely the lesser of 2 evils.....

What would I be afraid of? What does it smell like?

Stick your nose into your armpit and sniff. Now you can tell us all.

You're the one that made the thread title. You don't like what you hear in response?

Huh. I guess my fear smells like a certain ATS member's mother's perfume.

Responding with drivel, however much one might get off on it, doesn't help the conversation. You only came with intimidation tactics; that's not gonna cut it here with the grown-ups.

I'm not a Trump supporter... I don't even necessarily disagree that he is (or was) working with Hilary... but I don't think this will work against Trump in any way.

For those who already support Trump -- they know already and don't care. Either he said nice things because he had to for business purposes, or he really meant them at the time but he's now seen the light. It's cool either way.

For Republicans who didn't previously support him, but do now that he's the nominee, it won't be a gamechanger for the same reasons.

For Bernie supporters who cannot and will not bring themselves to vote for Hilary, but who most likely once did support Hilary themselves, they'll understand if he didn't know better before because they didn't either.

The only ones who will hold it against him are the diehard Hilary supporters and the Never Trumps, who are going to hate him anyway. And technically it won't be Trump's previous support that's the problem, but that it's "previous" and not current! Both would be happy if he were still supporting Hilary and not running against her.

Maybe try not jumping onboard any train that appears to be catering to you wants and needs? Maybe think things through?

You have two viable choices that actually have a chance to win.

This makes me think you're not understanding. These 'choices' are not choices at all, just jingly toys to distract the babies.

It's like a rigged shell game, you'll lose every time. The "choices" campaigns cost a lot of money, so your choices are limited to who has that kind of cash to run. It's clearly a rigged system, there's no doubt. You can't fix that mess anytime soon, so in the meantime if you actually want your candidate to win you have been given two choices. What you do with that choice is up to you.

You're right about this. I just wish there was a way to boycott the entire system that would actually be effective, without violence.

Far enough not to fall prey to their traditional party politics.
But close enough to bulls##t his way through the door.

I guess we'll see. I hope I'm wrong. But I'd bet the farm HRC is our next president, even if Trump ends up with more support.

This is what's wrong with America imo. ^^^Your second sentence in the above quote is the reason for your first sentence, whether you realize it or not.

These guys? I have no affiliation. Are they a DNC front? I should reiterate I dislike Clinton as much as I dislike Trump, but no one needs any convincing of that hence this OP being about Trump.

Believe or not I COMPLETELY get that sentiment ,it has been a very difficult 8 years, divisive and angry.
I don't want that at all.
I hope you don't have as much difficulty with these next 4, if you're mistaken ,as I have.

Where then, pray tell, could you point me to your videos of Hillary because I must have missed them, being new around here?

Well, seeing as I don't have a dog in this fight nothing should change for me. I'm withdrawing from the insanity more and more as time passes, and there might come a time when I stop caring altogether in order to have a happy life. It's looking like the better option after realizing most Americans are just like Randy Marsh.

Same here, but at what point does that become pointless? For instance, suppose irrefutable evidence did surface that Trump & HRC were colluding. That's the kind of disillusionment I'm dealing with here. If that's not your reality yet, it will be; you will continue to be let down if you keep putting your faith in these professional bsers.

I always find it enlightening when folks like the OP only post dirt on one candidate when there is decades of dirt on the other. As I've mentioned elsewhere, my preference was that both parties came out with different candidates following the conventions...seems that isn't going to happen. Having a choice of living under a Mob Boss (HRC), who a good number of politicians are likely, and rightfully, afraid of for both themselves and their families (search Clinton - mysterious deaths - but not in Google, likely won't show up), or a businessman with zero political experience that can likely be controlled by the House and Senate and VP, I'll take Trump, thank you very much.

When your resolve no longer has the strength to do so.
I have NOTICED how poorly they perform,I USED to think a strong military guy could make things turn around but THAT is far too myopic an opinion.
THEN you get Russia.
I can't do that.
I put my own life behind my country I'll die before I shut up.
AS IT IS I am bracing for a McCarthyesque crackdown on Islam as a whole.
Gonna be ugly.
Blacks will get caught up in it as well unless I'm incorrect.
NOT the way America should conduct business.
MAYBE America ISN'T the way I believe it to be...
THEN I guess i'll just have to drag it there as I can.
