Have you asked anyone to let ATS know if you die?

My dad was a ATS member. He died last month in LA. No I have not told anyone if I die to log in and let ATS know. Good thread!

Well, it must be true with all the detail you provided. Nothing like that can be fabricated without there being some truth to the claims.

It is generally known in England that they do that yes.

As to the legimacy of the claims I do not know but they are in general terms known as sheep shaggers and it is understood that that they do it on the edges of cliffs so the sheep pushes back harder or that they pop the back legs of the sheep into their welling boots for stability.

So what you do is you say to someone in the real world "Ok mate if I die can you go to this crackpot website and say that I am now dead so they know as opposed to everybody going "where the # did he go I often wondered?"

I've been thinking of you and wondering how Mrs. NS is doing. I know you went through some rough spots but I never miss a chance to click on the post when I see your name...just to reassure myself that you are holding your own.

I think your post brings to the forefront just what a great group of people we have on ATS. To be honest, I've been working a bit behind the scenes and lost some time due to travel. Plus I had heard that ATS gets a bit crazy during the summer with school out, and this is my first summer here, so I guess I made a semi-conscious decision to lay low until, cough cough, more adults are present.

If you don't mind my sharing an observation though, I have been incredibly impressed at how I have seen other members step up to the plate to respond to many questions of late, where my own response would not have been as charitable. It seems sort of twisted to realize that one is wrong and yet to be thrilled to make that discovery and to see how the "pros" handled the young summer crowd. When I would read some of these comments or questions, I would instinctively wince and quickly scan down at the number of responses, and then brace myself to watch the poor soul turned into mince meat, but never once did this happen -- at least where I looked.

But I am still wondering how to put an APB out for my friend. I thought of asking the local police, but that thought came to a sudden halt when I realized that they would be dealing with a ClownFish, on a conspiracy site, who is worried about a guy who has a real scary face, and clapping with what looks like a woman tied up in the back ground. Somehow, frowning and stomping my fin and saying, "I'm serious!" just doesn't carry any weight...sigh...please let me know if you hear anything, anybody....anybody.

Now that was funny. And I just can't pass up the opportunity to share a real lifer here:

I was checking myself out of the hospital against doctor's orders, after he told me that I had 3 hours to live...

I innocently asked him, "If I don't die, do you want to know about it?"

He looked up at me from his desk, may he rest in pieces, and with incredible disgust replied, "How would you know if you didn't die?"

I just looked at him in silent wonder, while he worked this one out for himself, and then he frowned deeper still and grumbled, "Well, I suppose you would know because you would still be alive -- but you have a 70% chance of living anyway!"

Am even pondering about writing my own ATS obit. LOL.

However, I suspect that the net will be trashed and chaos will reign before most of us have a chance to have our friends post an obit for us.

I think I made a thread about writing our own epitaphs a while ago, god call.
