I thought Booker was above this kind of politics...

I was fooled again, by a smooth talker...

YMMV...

He made a great point. We are not defined by our wealthiest people or our greatest achievements.

We are defined by how we treat the lowest among us.

Could have fooled me, the way they demonize the rich and success.

Is he trying to quote Jesus?

Think about what you just said.

The left apparently doesn't.

The continue to ignore the fact that Jesus ministered to all, including the rich, and often taught in terms of wealth and success.

We are all sinners and Jesus's mission was to us, not only to those who fit in with your moral agenda.

Jesus is a fictitious character.

but regardless of that, i remember a story about Jesus walking into a temple and putting his foot up "the money changers" collective asses.

Oh, yes, that piece which is often taken out of context. The point is that the young man had placed his wealth above God. Many who are wealthy do, but not all. And you should never forget that His mission was to the sinners, not the righteous, which is why he would never turn away from the rich anymore than he would the whores or any other sinner.

Pick the context which fits your narrative best.

I'll take it for what it's worth.

energy during a speech wins out most of the time. Hitler was very lively in his speeches from what I saw in the documentaries at least

Context nothing. Read the whole story and not just the verse.

she probably does. don't blame her, there are crazies out there.

i have no beef with her. she's not like Hillary Clinton, who supported mass incarcerations.

Perspective is in order.

Michelle Obama was asked during the 2008 primaries if she would vote for Hillary if Obama lost.

Her response:

"I’d have to think about that,” Mrs. Obama said on “Good Morning America” on ABC. “I’d have to think about — policies, her approach, her tone."

Her speech is a joke in this convention.
