I've always found this topic to be of Interest.

It was more than a passing fad, but a way of life for many older cultures of our past.

We are conditioned to think that hair styling is important and how it makes a cool fashion statement. But in olden times it was a different story. An interesting find revealed that long hair in men was actually related to consciousness or the sixth sense. Does that sound alarming? Lets delve a bit more into this topic.

During the Vietnam war, special forces in the war department had sent undercover experts to look for talented recruits among Native Americans, who were blessed with special supernatural and tracking abilities. A couple of American Indians were selected and what happened after that is surprising.

Once they were recruited, their natural skills and ability to access their sixth sense just disappeared. On conducting a test to find out what went wrong, the older native American recruits said that after undergoing military haircut they could no longer sense the enemy, they lost their intuition power and couldn’t access subtle extrasensory information.

So more native Indians were recruited and this time they were allowed to keep their hair long and on comparing performance of men with military haircut and ones with long hair, they found out that long-haired men were far better and skilful. The results stated that the Native trackers should be allowed to keep their hair long. A special thanks to Indian in the Machine for the truth on Native Indians and long hair.

I always believed this.
Whenever I cut my hair, about once every year and a half, I loose touch a little.

It can be seen in nature too. Insects using antennas. Cats "feeling" with their whiskers. Even catfish use them.

Hair is the antenna that enables us to communicate between the universe and our pineal gland. IMO

Dunno, maybe it's too close to your butt?

Try trimming it back some and giving it a little air.

Have a look into Maria Orsic and the Vril Society.
Hitlers personal psychic group who channeled information to him.
Mainly UFO technology but other occult things.
They were all women with very long hair and they also believed that the hair was the source of their power.
A rather odd group who I'd like to find out more about myself but there's a connection there if you're interested.

This story is an internet hoax. Can anyone actually validate the story?

Also, Native Americans are not one group of people. There are many, many ethnic divisions, different tribes, and different cultural norms and traditions regarding their hair. Native Americans were bald, had mohawks, wore braided hair, and had varying styles of partially shaved and cut styles in addition to some Natives donning full manes.

Shaved Buddhist monks cultivate higher levels of perception without hair.

Cool topic. I don't feel like me without long hair. Never have.

Even the military recognizes the difference and allowed native American scouts to keep their hair long and others to grow beards.

I believe there were a couple of others here through the years as well, but that's a mega-thread.

I don't believe it's a 'hoax' at all. In fact i believe that it does in fact, create a stronger perceptive of the energies around us.

The science of hair was one of the first technologies given by Yogi Bhajan when he came to America. “When the hair on your head is allowed to attain its full, mature length, then phosphorous, calcium, and vitamin D are all produced, and enter the lymphatic fluid, and eventually the spinal fluid through the two ducts on the top of the brain.

This ionic change creates more efficient memory and leads to greater physical energy, improved stamina, and patience.” Yogi Bhajan explained that if you choose to cut your hair, you not only lose this extra energy and nourishment, but your body must then provide a great amount of vital energy and nutrients to continually re-grow the missing hair.

In addition, hairs are the antennas that gather and channel the sun energy or prana to the frontal lobes, the part of the brain you use for meditation and visualization. These antennas act as conduits to bring you greater quantities of subtle, cosmic energy. It takes approximately three years from the last time your hair was cut for new antennas to form at the tips of the hair.

Kundalini Hair Care: In India, a Rishi is known as a wise one who coils his or her hair up on the crown of the head during the day to energize the brain cells, and then combs it down at night. A ‘rishi knot’ energizes your magnetic field (aura) and stimulates the pineal gland in the center of your brain.

“This activation of your pineal results in a secretion that is central to the development of higher intellectual functioning, as well as higher spiritual perception.” -Yogi Bhajan During the day, the hair absorbs solar energy, but at night it absorbs lunar energy. Keeping the hair up during the day and down at night aids in this process. Braiding your hair at night will help your electromagnetic field balance out from the day.

So, just because you think it's a hoax doesn't mean everyone else does.

The opinion and belief about hair may be true, but I am calling it a hoax that the U.S. military made note of long hair during the Vietnam War.

If there isn't any proof of this occurring in the U.S. military by official documents or verifiable statements, it is a hoax. Care to provide the evidence? Not "hair evidence", but "military evidence" that the story ever occurred.

P.S.

• How do you account for the countless Native Americans with mohawks, shaved heads, and cut hair?

• Were tribes with uncut hair superior to mohawk tribes?, shaved tribes?, cut tribes? Any proof that uncut Natives were more perceptive than other Natives?

• If a Native American begins to lose their hair from natural causes, would they be kicked out of hunting/war parties as being viewed as "less perceptive"?

• How do you account for the heightened perceptions and awareness of Buddhist monks?

Sahabi... I haven't been able to find anything proving it didn't happen.

I don't think just having 'hair' means one is automatically 'awakened'. As some here have mentioned, and myself from personal experience, having long hair seems to create an awareness if you will, of energies around me. I cannot speak for everyone, nor can i speak for you.

Mohawks were quite war like, and you're going to mention it anyways so i'll just spell it out for you. Yes there were others who had long hair who also most likely had those same qualities. Monks yes, many are bald. I've also seen war like monks. Perhaps Monks, to some degree, are on a completely different wave length tuned into completely different energies.

It's my 'belief' that those who are more in tune with these energies, and aren't clogged up with dirty energies like positive ions will more than likely be more ,again i say, in Tune, with their surroundings than those who couldn't care less and would rather remained closed to these ideas.

Good enough answer for you, does it appease your demands?

Remember the story of Samson in ancient times.

Delilah cut his hair while he was sleeping, and he lost his power and strength afterward.

I can't speak on behalf of others perceptions regarding hair length, but from a personal standpoint, I've noticed I'm more "at peace" when my hair is longer. I recently gave myself a longer deathhawk, (shaved underneath and about a foot and a half in length so far) and I've found this combination to be most effective for my sense of duty and inner peace.

I know some people who have always worn their hair long undergoing a sudden transition to short hair seems to "imbalance" them a little until they adjust to the new 'do.

Hair is the ultimate individualistic expression, some don't notice but a person with already high levels of awareness would probably feel the effects of suddenly finding themselves cut short. In fact, shaving of the head was not only a grooming issue in boot camp, but also part of a psychological process of "destroying the former ego" to help ready troops for a new role in the military. The majority of guys fresh from the barber spend more time touching their own head until they adjust, and rubbing the head of a fellow soldier creates a brotherhood bond.

It's an interesting study, for sure!
Thanks for sharing this with us! I'll definitely stay tuned!
