I think he admires intelligence and strength of character.

I'd say he has zero tolerance for those he considers below his standards.

To be fair, not only what he says, but who he attracts with his political stances... And what those stances are. Who he embraces. Who he rejects. Totality matters. The argument has stuck for good reason.
