The tax return has no bearing on net worth and how he has grown that initial $1m. You are confused about what a tax return is.
He has already provided his financials to the FEC. His value according to him is $1bn, others say more like $4bn. So he has made somewhere between 400,000% and 1,000,000% on his money.

His bankruptcy rate is about 5% of all the businesses he has started and any way you cut it he has returned 1,000's of percentage points on his investments. Also loans are a part of business. How much do you think Bill gates borrowed at Microsoft?
