Why no instances of this happening in the present? Say, within the last month?
Why is it always confined to the recollections of a persons past?

Why no attempt to design an experiment to detect further "timeline shifts?" I actually made some predictions here:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Here's another prediction: someone will freak out when they discover there are two Panama Canals a year from now.

Predict what exactly? People are going to remeber flawed from here till eternity. So this will never end.

I have noticed that a good portion of it can be traced to the fact that no one spell checks their Internet ramblings. There are many articles that have it spelled out Interview with a Vampire. So naturally people read it or saw it misspelled somewhere else, that's the memory they have, and so they remember it right, as they read or heard it. It just the source of their original memory is wrong.

This then becomes "I know what In remember", never questioning the source of that memory.

I have a few memories that no one else recalls. One was watching a movie with my husband, that he doesn't remember. I KNOW we watched it together because it was a topic he liked. I very clearly remember seeing it on video, we rented it from Blockbuster (back when there were video rental stores). I said one time, when I saw a reference to it, "we should watch that again, it was funny and we both liked it." He swears we did not see it, and I must have been with someone else. I wouldn't have been with anyone else anyway, but I know we saw it together.

The other incident was after the 9/11 attacks. I was looking at a tribute book about it. It showed pictures of the interiors of the trade center buildings. One of them triggered a memory of being there with my grandmother and 2 cousins. We had been in NYC together for a Broadway show. But they all say we did NOT go to the trade center. I remember it. ??? Crazy.

My son remembers me saying things I have no recollection of all the time. Usually to his benefit curiously.

My biggest shock came from the changed bible verses. I know my bible inside and out. I have studied it for many years, and I frankly love the word of God. I know my bible never said anything about putting new wine into old bottles, and yet now my bible says exactly that! There are other alterations that have appeared.

This video shows that while the words changed in the KVJ bible, old reference books quoting the KJV have the prior words that have been altered.

Jump to the 6:22 mark for the proof

I have enough peace of mind telling my experience without having to investigate every contingency of proof to convince total strangers on the web.

Any explanation why a number of people seem compelled to do so? That's what intrigues me.

Interesting. I can't imagine why people who think they see evidence of the whole of reality changing to want to share, research and find others who are experiencing the same!

What if there was an experiment, the one change was to be made in this case Mandela would live and not die, the fallout is all the little stuff that has changed.

Many people do not research so there is a ton of dumb stuff getting in the mix, like Cup Noodles, Cup O' Noodles, easy to find they both exist and can both be bought today at amazon. There are many others with name changes, logo changes that can be tracked down with little effort.

Originally, the product was known as Cup O' Noodles in the United States until 1993. In 1978, Nissin Foods offers new varieties of Top Ramen and Cup O' Noodles.
Other brand names are used in specific countries, such as the singular Cup Noodle in Japan,

I may be slightly mad, but not mad enough to hunt down an ER doctor from over 20 years ago. I'm sorry, but this isn't an episode of the X-Files. I have enough peace of mind telling my experience without having to investigate every contingency of proof to convince total strangers on the web.

It wouldn't matter anyway if it has changed for your parents it would likely be changed for all but you and that means the record of it would be changed also.

Nearly every day you hear people say, "I swear I left it right there" or when did they change that (color, sign, object), or didn't that guy have a scar on his face or some change registered. We simply ignore this stuff thinking it is our memory that has the problem.

Sometimes the changes seem big, you go back to a town and a street name is changed a store or restaurant is on another block something old that has been there for years should not be there where the park was. Most often it is little things and we don't take time to bother verifying any of it, it takes to much time.

That's interesting, thanks for sharing

I've had many of the typical alternate memories that you hear mention of (Berenstein Bears, Mirror Mirror, etc.) Unfortunately I cannot recall any specific memories outside of such examples which contradict with other people's at the moment. I vaguely remember having the experience in the past, where other people would claim not to remember something that we did together as kids or something, and they would be positive I was wrong, even though we had. Thing is, I always wrote those incidents off and never gave it much thought. Now I wish I'd kept a journal. Such incidents were very rare for me though.

Seems we have that in common, Peppycat. Having a trauma before age 5 that we cannot recall, that is. I too have considered having hypnosis therapy to remember what happened, although I admit part of me doesn't want to know. I am also a social recluse too. I have forced myself to be more sociable, and meds for anxiety make it easier, but I rarely bother to make many friends. I enjoy my personal space.

Hope you get yourself healed, peppycat

a reply to: LoneCloudHopper2 thanks. I'm actually pretty done here in this life, don't think in'm striving for sympathy... just have had enough of being called stupid, here. Not real friends, if they can't say that to my face.
Thought this was a safe place, yet I am no more than being insulted left and right.
You have been kind on the surface and perhaps from within.
Hope you figure out missing segments from before five too... if and when you are ready.
I vaguely recall a friend of my brother... for some reason I insisted he be at my fifth birthday, not sure anymore if I was really turning five and if I spent time with him before that...I hate a foggy memory.
Thanks, Lone CH.
It helps me to communicate things I have difficulty with.

That's because you know that your memory is the problem.
