that Russia can do no wrong and the the US is evil incarnate.

Well come on ! that is not what it's saying !

is the stubborn refusal by the US leadership to accept Russia as an equal partner: Washington is dead set on being the “world leader” and the “indispensable nation,” even as its ....

Are YOU even concerned about a possible WWIII , first you say it's nonsense without reading and than you misinterpert by giving a catchy one liner ....

I disagree.

I read it. I read it when you posted it in the other thread. I said your "world DEFCON" statement was nonsense. I said the letter was an opinion.

Don't try to tell me about concern. I grew up ducking under my desk at school. I grew up under the threat of nuclear annihilation.

now were here... look I assume you don't want that again (ducking of nuke attack in the 50's). So you must be 60 or even older and you must have seen the propaganda on both sides.

This letter was from Russian citizens that are concerned so I do assume you understand their feelings...

War is horrible.

You are very perceptive.

And I understand that they see the only threat is from the side of the US. And, as I learned growing up, fear of the enemy is a necessary tool of propaganda.

War is horrible.
I know.

No not at all ... Many Russians are concerned about the world not seeing America as the agressor but the 'bad management in America'. They blame The Nato as a relic of the cold war.

Ok we disaggree , time to stop. You going at this in the 'standard debunk style'. I just wanted to make a difference here.

Anyway , It's kind of sad that any fact that I bring up to make 'russians' more human gets debunked. I was born in the east and see how society is heading towards another WWIII. This makes me sad ! You've see perestrojca with your own eyes. It means rebuilding. The rebuilding of humanity , making this world a better place for both west and east. Russians want to work with and not against the NATO or US.

There is no legitimate reason we constantly antagonize Russia.

As you said , US just needs a boogyman. But at the moment the situation is very serious. A single cyber attack (by russian scriptkiddy) would be reason for Nato troops to go on Russian soil... that's ugly!

I know it's subjective but it seems like the media are preparing us to hate the Russians giving us the same stereotypes as in the cold war. In fact it feels like the cold war never ended. Many Russians feel like there has to come a change before it's to late I too that is why I made this tread.

Perhaps the "Russian citizens" should be writing Putin asking to get out of Crimea & stop threatening the smaller Eastern block nations with reprisal if they don't tow Pooties line.
You know all those countries that Russia annexed & enslaved after WW2.

What troops?

USA, UK , Germany and france have only few thousand troops between them stationed in eastern Europe.

Thats a defence force not invasion

After Brexit and if Scotland decide to leave the UK i think England would annex the Clyde Naval Base to protect Trident, this would mean invading our former partner, Faslane is a vital part of the UK's defense system. Can the same not be said about Russia and the Crimea?

Just asking

You do understand the boogey man you talk of has caused this on his own...let us look back at the olympics shall we where Putin was laughed at because they put on the worst winter olympics in recent history.

Now Putin was doing things right and was one of the
most liked world leaders, but of course that changed when the olympics ended and he decided to show his ass and illegally annex Crimea...and since then he has threatened pretty much everyone with nuclear strikes if they try and oppose him. That was the last straw for his neighbors who didn't want to be the next Crimea that was taken on a lie...and yes he lied about his reason for taking Crimea.

In fact he was working with NATO, but that little thing in Crimea changed that...so this wasn't the US wanting a boogey man...it's the fact that Russia cannot be allowed to run roughshot over it's sovereign neighbors because their president feels nostalgic for the past and wants to bring it back.

NATO only stopped cooperating with him because of his actions in Ukraine...that is all, had he never went to Ukraine and took Crimea you wouldn't see those neighbors wanting NATO to be more active in their country and you wouldn't see more countries wanting to be part of NATO.

What you see now is because of Putin's actions not because the US needs a boogey man.

No because Russia was never in jeapordy of losing it's base in Crimea...they had a lease until 2042.

Putin didn't feel he should have to pay for a base so why not just annex the country and then you don't owe money to your sovereign nation neighbor who left as fast as they could when the Soviet Union broke up.

Putin has already said he had pre planned the
Crimean takeover before the supposed referendum was even in play...and he wasn't there to protect ethnic Russians, because until anyone in Crimea even discussed leaving Putin already had plans to reclaim it.

So no Russia didn't have a right to do what they did,and if the US did something like that and said it was to protect ethnic americans they would be villified...yet Russia does this and people think he had the right to do so...and that is what is so amazing about this.

If they do that they risk the chance of taking an all paid vacation to one of Russia's beautiful Siberian resorts.

Nobody opposes Putin...just ask those who have, but oh wait they are either locked up or dead...so I guess you really can't ask them.

England will not be Annexing anything, discussions will occur and a beneficial agreement arranged or they will just move and separate the English bits from the Scottish bits with no JackBoots involved.

It's an opinion from (apparently) some Russians who seem to think that Russia can do no wrong and the the US is evil incarnate.

As opposed to opinion that the USA can do no wrong and that Russia is evil incarnate , TBH I've seen more evidence that the US is evil incarnate.
There is blame on both sides of the fence , NATO have been provoking Russia for years by expanding to its borders.

Politics will be the death of us all , well except those with nice comfy bunkers to hide in.

If it's Russia just cry Crimea.

Crimeariver?

It does not matter where anyone comes from in the world, Russian, Chinese, Congolese, Argentinian, if you've noticed how America is a country that hates it's own people, you're not likely to think America has any interest in promoting world peace.

And alla Newland, it is apparent to me America do not want direct war with Russia just yet. First, the European buffer must be weakened and a lot of dollars made.

Very Interesting I didn't see that angle... So war is now prevented by greed and profit.

FWIW , I still think America is a great country. It's just the 'bad elements' inside it's system have to be removed before it's too late...
