Hundreds of people have marched on Westminster in protest at the shooting of two black men by police in America.

The Black Lives Matter march went through central London to the Houses of Parliament at about 20:00 BST.

The marchers were heard to shout "Hands up, don't shoot" as they carried banners through the capital.

The march is in response to the fatal shootings of Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Louisiana.

Our police do have guns. Many civilians have guns. Legally.

The majority dont.

The normal police units that deal with day to day affairs certainly dont.

Armed poloce are generally confined to arm response units.

Eitherway police shootings are generally extremely rare across the UK.

Which makes BLM in the UK stupid.

Racism... I am from Fiji live in uk btw.
I said from the start.. Even supporting obama from uk during his election is nothing but racism.

Its american issue let them deal with it in their own way.

You're welcome?

What do they really hope to accomplish, I wonder...

Seems to me, correct me if I'm wrong, that the UK has some rather pressing concerns of their own these days...like remaking the entirety of their social and political landscape? Or something of the sort?

Odd.

Whilst some cops here have guns, they are specialist units.
The one's who pull you over to tell you to slow down or the ones walking the beat are never armed.

As for the London BLM, I guess some people just like to protest and I have read stuff by people fed up of being pulled over for driving a nice car and having a black face, so maybe that is one of the drivers for people to show a bit of support to the US BLM thing?

Erm.....why?

Well its a popular movement especially in the US and we are somewhat linked..
All Lives matter is a better way to express it IMO.
The irony in the USA and the UK to a much lesser degree, is that the petty,s are killing each other and that should matter as much as ALM and BLM. Such a tangled web some weave.. Peace..

Lots do in the bigger cities. London and Manchester in particular that I've noticed.

I've been pulled over at home by a lone officer with a sidearm (which I'm pretty sure isn't protocol).

I do agree with you, our police is much more restrained, but there are plenty of guns out there.

Exactly.

We pretty much have our own issues to iron out.

Sure one can comment of US issues ( i know I do enough!) But to waste time trying to protest those issues and force them on the USA? Seems a waste on engery.

Because they are idiots and they have no idea what they are actually protesting about. They either believe the #BLM hype, or they're hoping there will be an excuse to loot some shops along the way. Amazingly enough, at least the people looking to loot are more honest and less retarded than anyone who believes the #BLM hype.

It's because people like politicising the race issue - an issue that does not really have resonance in the UK, but perhaps people want it to have.

Compared to the US gun crime rates and police killings, the use of guns by police is tiny. There are two different worlds.

Why? Aren't they nicely treated when arrested.

American Cop at routine traffic stop: "Freeze, Don't FKN move, or I will blow your FKN head off.

English Cop at an Armed Robbery: "Ello Ello Ello, what ave we got ear then?"

Talk about sheep. I spend a lot of time in Europe about half of the year in London, the Netherlands and Germany and i can tell you they have no reason to start a BLM movement over there whatsoever. They are just copying american culture from TV
which used to be a big thing in the 80's and started dying out in the late 90's except in Germany for some reason, over there having American flags on clothing etc was still a big thing not to long ago.

Spend some time in cities like London, or Amsterdam and Rotterdam in the Netherlands and you will be hard pressed to find racism against black or w/e people. I have spoken with a lot of family (whoa re black btw) in Amsterdam and Rotterdam and also from them i hear they do not experience any racism out there, at best they were in some word fights where it was used for insults from both parties. imo they seem a lot more grounded over there then in the U.S. Over here when 2 people have some sort of argument not related to race and a black person calls a white person a "crackah" or any racial slur i notice silence. But if in that very same situation a white person says "niggah" all of a sudden you see everybody rise up and scream RACISM and it reaches the news and spreads like wildfire over social media with all the hatred to go with it.

Over there? They do not do that. They all be like , well nothing really but its like everyone simply understands it for what it is. That also explains why you can simply walk down the street there and never notice or feel that kind of tension over there because to do not dramatize or try to abuse it, introducing a BLM movement in cities like Amsterdam or Rotterdam would completely destroy that harmony that they have over there and the same deffo goes for London, they are creating the problem with that and the only ones with a motive to do so are the ones who want to abuse it to elevated themselves above others.
