If I were a baker, I'd think about a new line of work.

Everyone is targeting them in their social justice crusades. Can't do business anymore.

You think that demanding a Muslim to adhere to our anti-discrimination laws is a "social justice crusade"?

Yes. It is.

Since when do we accomplish anything by making demands and using coercion?

An authoritarian crusade. Yes.

Um... they were breaking the law. It's "coercion" to insist on legal compliance?

There are some who take anything Muslim to be news worthy.

Even here.

Lets see, can we think of a new muslim bashing arena that hasn't been posted yet...

There should be a whole forum dedicated to it.

Doesn't mater, it fills the front page and new threads page. Along with LGBT, bathrooms and politics, just like the main stream.

Who cares? Seriously. Who. Cares.

I'm sick to death of the offended subculture. Just FOAD.

If they don't serve the customer they should be fired. Immediately. And no stinking apologies for it ex post facto either.

Stick to your damn guns.

Who cares what this tiny primitive minority thinks, they have to follow our laws, if even a tiny amount of them are let in, and most of them need to be deported as their is dangerous to our democracies and freedoms and we don't need to be soldiers fighting instead of peaceful.

Who the hell goes around saying that they are ex anything. Imagine a divorcee going into a cake shop and say "I want a cake, oh, by the way I'm an ex married man".
I think they aught to employ me (say an a very high salary) so when these people start being silly I appear and tell to grow up and f*** off. Oh, and my desision would be legally binding with NO appeal process.

Let me explain it to you as to why people feel the need to do that at the present time.

Whenever there is a society that works most of the time, there will be things that disturb the, lets call it, 'good times'.
The more peaceful and well running a society is, the smaller the 'disturbance' they concentrate on at any given time.

I remember times where wife beaters were high on the agenda, other times [back in the late 70's] it was heroin, other times it was youth gangs and graffiti, I hope you get what I am saying.

What happens next is, people gather evidence. Every time graffiti appears, it will make it into the news. Despite [!] there being other maybe worse problems.
It serves a purpose, in a world that can never be 100 % perfect, it is only possible to concentrate on one thing at a time for the masses. Of course in the background there will be organisations or doctors or teachers dealing with other stuff.
If the masses concentrate on one thing, it can be dealt with.

Often if it isn't an actual problem [as in these things will always exist] it will either go away OR if it is an actual threat to peace or preferred lifestyle by the masses, it can be addressed. This can only happen if the 'evidence' suggests that there is a problem. Therefore [as mentioned above], every time something happens that shouldn't happen it will be made public.

The 'thing' at the moment is muslims, no not actual muslims but the intolerance of islam and the absolute bending over backwards to accommodate islam when the masses really, really do not agree with its sentiments.

Therefore you will find every little bit of information about [yet another] case in which muslim rights are put before anyone else's rights published.

Of course you could say islam isn't a problem at all, that no muslim ever had extreme views, you could say it is a blessing that the larges immigration ever in history [and nobody agreed to] is by people with a mindset that is directly opposed to ours [in many cases - not always/end necessary disclaimer]. You could say it is beautiful that a lot of muslim culture which includes discrimination against women and gay people is coming to town and needs to be accepted before anyone else's culture. You could say it is lovely that we have to accept everything muslims do or else we are called racist, whilst our culture counts for zilch.

You could say that, and many here do but that is just as wrong an opinion as to say 'all musilms are'...The truth is in between. That said, we are being forced to accept the unacceptable in these unprecedented times.

So it would be more helpful to acknowledge people's [quite real] worries and address the 'outliers' rather than the majority.
The masses disagree with islam and we are gathering evidence as to why, until we feel we are being heard.

Once we feel our worries have been adequately and justly addressed [for both sides] and we feel safe and equal in our own countries, we can address the next problem and gather evidence for that. It's how free human societies work. Disallow this and you live in a tyranny.

If the people baking the cake may have an attitude toward me, I think I would find another place to make it. Much like upsetting the staff before ordering your food in a restaurant.

Thanks. To all that I go, meh.

The media shapes world opinion more than any other factor. We wouldn't know any of this otherwise.

The media "spotlight" is like a telescope, it swings here and stops, then there and stops. When its focused on a generated issue, everyone is on that page. Most of the time issues are created for us. And usually they are lies. You really think the war in Iraq, gone on for decades is about any but oil. You really believe its about Islam, Terrorism, Regime Change and Democracy?

Ever read Plato's Cave?

Yes I have read 'Plato's cave'. So what? is there anything untrue about what I said? You also put word into my mouth that I never said in my post. I don't like that very much, it is your personal propaganda and you are doing what you claim news publications are doing. Doesn't wash with me.

And what about personal experiences, rather than news rubbish? I have plenty, do you have an hour or two? As I said, you can close your ears and eyes all you want. It's you right. I was just explaining why every little muslim story makes it into the papers. No more, no less.

Oh, came across as excuses to me.

If you did understand the Cave reference, you would understand 99% of the news "stories" are just that.
