Heaps, heaps of really close friends I am happy to share everything with
But sadly we have all blown over to different parts of the second largest state on the earth

Makes it a tad sad really

All of this is "IRL". I have several online friends that I visit with daily, and that I am quite fond of.

as far as social circles go, i have 1 friend. He lives 5 hours away.

but i have my wife, kids, and mom that are around me all the time. My sister and her son, too.

The next rung out is a guy who moved 5 hours away yesterday. We don't hang out, but I seek him out for advice and vice versa. He is one of the only people I know who has a moral compass that I trust.

Outside of that are people i am friendly with, but thats it. And that is just about the rest of the world.

HEY! One of us should be in bed! LOL.

Threw another couple of (...things).

Heading for shower shortly.

I have lunch with my current closer guy friend tomorrow. May have to set my Kindle alarm to wake up in time. LOL.

Congrats on having as many friends in your life as you have.

I know a lot of folks who don't feel close to anyone.

I was touched by a former student calling me today just checking in on me. Yea.

Cheers.

I went out with a good male friend the other day
We caught up for a beer and a meal at the local pub
So happens we both walked in, asked for a table, the waitress gave us a smile and made a strange comment we both thought insinuated we were a couple

Well, not because but because, we both acted very macho, commenting on short skirts, long legs, big blossoms and pretty girls

Not our finest moment I grant, but pretty funny on reflection

I actually have no friends. My kids and I are very close, we talk about anything going on in their lives that may be wrong, but, they being teenagers, I don't burden them with my problems.
I do have a huge extended family [ Uncles, cousins, etc ] in my home state of Kentucky I could count on if need be and "Next of Kin" is not just a movie.

Not too many these days, but enough!

" It happens sometimes. Friends come in and out of our lives, like busboys in a restaurant."

" I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?"

This post got me thinking, how many friends reaily know who you are, and do you reaily know who your friends are. Everyone has a shield around them, to keep them safe, everyone projects a picture of who they want to be.We ( well most of us) want to belong somewere, so how much of what we see in friend is real and how much of what we show friends is the real us.

Honestly? One

It's summer and the last 10-15 messages I've sent him have been "beer" or "bbq" his reply have always been "yes". We talk a bit about conspiracies and politics etc but quite honestly the majority of the time we just enjoy each others company. I could trust him with my last rolo even if he was starving. Only time we've ever argued or fought is probably over sharing, one always tells off the other for sharing but atleast we are both always drunk and well fed.

Other than that I have acquintences and friendly people who havent screwed me over yet. Not enough trust in the world and rightly so. Actions always speak louder than words and I don't want to be close with the way many people act... Not worth the hassle.

I Gave Up On Friends Long Ago. My Path Led Me To Find Solace....
Then... One Day In The Park... All Alone... I Pondered In My Mind Two People I Truly Care For...
It Dawned On Me That They Were The Only Two I Could Live For... And Die For.
So... Upon That Note... I Thanked God For Them.... And Suddenly The World Began To Scream Shrieks Of Horror And Discomfort....

The Tarot Card Number One Is The Fool.... It Means: "Never Turn Your Back On A True Friend!"

I've got loads of mates I hang out with all the time.

It's just that they say some mean things sometimes, like "Who the hell are you?" and "Quit sleeping on my lawn or I'll call the cops."

It's definitely quality over quantity when it comes to friends. I'm still best friends with the same group I was when I was 11. From secondary school, which is enough. I don't feel the need for more in my life, but you never know. I generally get on with most people I meet. I now consider my care assistants and cancer counsellor as friends, have a laugh with them and cuddles too. I generally just leave my doors open so anyone can drop over when they like and just make their way to my room. If I'm asleep I just close my eyes, they know nor to wake me some will sit on my bed others will pull up a seat and stick the TVs on. Those who come with goodies are most welcome, but it's not that important a cup of tea is always welcome

I have few friends, and many acquaintances. Just recently found a new girlfriend.

I don't mind not having "friends" because most of the time they aren't really "friends"

I have a Dungeons and Dragons group that has been meeting weekly for a few years, and right now it has four people in it. Gaming in person is a good way to make friends. I also go to the local Magic: The Gathering nights on occasion.

Besides the D&D friends (3), I have a girlfriend, a best friend and one potential friend (a girl) who I met in class and have been texting a lot.

During college, I had a LOT of friends, even a fair amount of close friends. That is where most of my 500 Facebook friends came from.

If you want more friends, try going to a gaming group (D&D and Magic have high potential) or, if you are young enough, going to a college and living in the dorms - or just going to a Community College or something.

Plenty of acquaintances, no real friends. A litmus test for telling what a true friend is, I once heard, is name someone you would call at 3:30 a.m. on a worknight, if your car broke down miles from home. Who would you feel comfortable calling without fear you would be inconveniencing them, and in turn they wouldn't feel put out? I don't feel that way with anyone I know.

Ask a friend if he'll do you a favour and he'll say "yes".

Ask an acquaintance if he'll do you a favour he'll say " what is it?"

Right. I know no one who'll say "yes" right off.
