Ive grown up with Pit bulls my entire life, ive been bitten zero times. Any dog will become annoyed if you let kids constantly grab on them. Imagine someone poking and tugging on your body, eventually you are going get annoyed. Animals are a blank slate when they are born you can tame them. Again ive never been bitten by a pittbull, I have them in my life for 28 years now.

The denial is similar to a religious experience across the board.

So is the ignorance. well done for being a perfect example.

Why is it you need to have animals around that you must train and watch like hawks to ensure they do not damage others ?

same reason other humans (animals) have children (small animals).

Love, family and companionship.

EVERYONE who owns any of these type of dogs should be asked the question, does your dog look dangerous ???

Does that girl look attractive?

Does that cloud look like a rabbits head?

Do you understand that that perception is based on the individual?

That is why they like these breeds, they are AFRAID deep down of a lot of things and the lifestyle's they lead....they try and turn it into a loving, caring, compassionate animal, and yet they are about as friendly as a bear...when just about ANYTHING goes down.

This is just one of the examples of ignorance that I said you do a good job of showing.

Oh look and in the same post another example

Every one of those breeds has been bred for war and killing, and we have these geniuses all claiming they are great dogs oh so full of love.

I think you need to educate yourself a little about what certain breed of of dog were bred for.

And so on....the whole dam society is retarded and claims that only humans make the dogs aggressive.

well seeing as dogs are domesticated animals and humans have played quite a large part in that domestication and still play a a large part in what environment these domesticated animals live in then Yeah you could call it retarded if you know no better and simply have some preconceived conclusions based on a few bad experiences.

It wouldn't be ignorant to base a few bad personal experiences in a conclusive towards every dog of a certain breed would it?

Yeah you just keep the shining light that you are, ignorance is alive and well.

It is time the owners of any vicious super strong dogs get a taste of reality....and realize the breeds they are trying to make into lovers, are instead full of HATE just dying to be released.

I would be surprised if anyone can outshine you

Some people are too stupid to exist, IMO. Why are so many Americans too stupid to realize that dangerous things are dangerous? I can't believe that people still defend these monsters in spite of all evidence and common sense. I wonder if anyone will be prosecuted over this? In my city pit bulls are banned and my girlfriend says she saw people protesting against the ban just the other day. Wake up people.

Besides having the capacity to kill, they are also a very annoying breed of dogs. They're hardly gentle. They can be sweet, but never gentle.

Thankfully my dog is the greatest dog to ever exist and I don't have to deal with annoying turd dogs that eat babies.

That doesn't matter, ignorance always prevails. My state has a law banning municipalities from breed specific legislation and is currently working on laws to prevent landlords from refusing tenants based on their dog's breed.

Anyone that even has half a though even nearly as ignorant as the OP is just a brainwashed, sad individual. Just for MAYBE A LITTLE perspective, before making these kinds of mind numbing comments people should be forced to think over certain things. How many dogs are in the US? How many of those are pits? How many are pit mixes? And how many otherwise are what the media has deemed "pitbull-like" dogs? Just because it's squat and muscular with an angular head doesn't make it a pit.

Yes, I own pits. I have for years and I refuse to own any other breed. They're the most loving, sweet, gentle dogs I've ever had around me. Oh yes, I've been bitten repeatedly over my life. My lab/Dane mix, my pug, my daughter's chihuahua, my exes sheltie, a chow, my walker hound, 2 different golden retrievers... never a pit. Ever. I currently have 3. A 35lb mini pit, a 70lb bluenose and a 110lb pit/mastiff. No fights, no bites, no vicious, horrible attacks. Why? Because I train my dogs and don't make a habit of mistreating them or playing rough. They're a bully breed. That means something. Mostly that they're INCREDIBLY stubborn. So anyway OP, assuming you're referring to the American Pitbull terrier (which I doubt you are because I deal with this kind of ignorance every time I take my girls to a dog park) here's a small list of other bully breeds. I mean how can some people be so stupid? Owning a BOSTON TERRIER? THAT'S JUST ASKING FOR TROUBLE!

American Pit Bull Terrier
Staffordshire Terrier
Staforshire Bull Terrier
Bull Terrier
Miniature Bull Terrier
American Bulldog
English Bulldog
Olde English Bulldog
Mastiffs
Boxers
Boston Terriers
French Bulldog

There's some nasty ones on there. Ankle biting bulldogs, bull terriers, hell, even their smaller cousins! Yes, by your ignorant logic, the Target dog is a vicious killing machine. I'm leaving this nauseating thread before I get another T&C violation. Good day, everyone.

Sad for the kid.

Baffled why people have them dogs .

Breed doesn't even matter.

Case in point: My daughter was bitten by a relatives Labrador Retriever at a family party years ago when my daughter was about 6 ears old. I was standing there when it happened. She didn't do anything to antagonize the dog. It simply walked up and bit her face.
The dog had always been very docile and labs are a breed that generally are recognized as family and children friendly.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine who had a lab for at least 7 years. The dog was trained, and as far as I was concerned, not capable of hurting a fly.

My friend had a baby, was getting formula from kitchen, turned head for 5 seconds, and his lab had his baby's head in its mouth; he got there quick enough, and gave dog away.

Dog bit new owner eventually and had to be put down. I still to this day can't believe "Buddy" would be capable of this.

Dog owners bare the responsibility of their pets period; and that responsibility should assume that an animal is capable of attacking anyone at anytime (unprovoked). IMO

That poor baby!

The article said the dogs actually belonged to the woman's brother. So I picture them just tying them up outside and not working with them at all. Which is almost as bad as encouraging aggressive behavior.

Breed aside, I can't fathom why people keep aggressive individual dogs. I remember walking with my 2 yo daughter through our apartment complex and she would see a dog and naturally want to pet it. (we had an English Bulldog, biggest marshmallow ever) I would ask if she could- as you should do- and people would be pulling their already aggressive acting dogs away saying "No, keep her away, he'll bite." WhyTF would you have a dog like that at all? Much less in an apartment complex????

Sad to hear about this tragedy, unfortunately I've read multiple stories that go just like this one, and I'm sure there will be more to come.

Of course the MOTHER that left the baby has no guilt at all?

Come on people WAKEUP!!!!

It is not he PitBulls fault.
It is not the AR15s fault.
It is not the IKEA dressers fault.

The reason ALL of theses people keep dying is because ANOTHER HUMAN BEING did something stupid, crazy or irresponsible.

IT IS TIME WE ALL STARTED TO TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR ACTIONS AND PUNISH OTHER THAT DON'T.

+1

As a cable installer in my past, pit bulls get a bad wrap. The meanest dogs I have come across are Dachshunds, Collies, and Dalmatians. But, that is not to say I never came across nice ones of these breeds.......because I did. All have the potential to be mean........just like humans. Depends on how their life was.......just like a human.

You are likely one of those guys who say dogs don't bite, but I bet your dogs HAVE bitten many things, including you.

I see a lot of assumptions youre making to try and reinforce your irrational fear of bully breeds.

Actually, No Ive never been bitten but once, and he was a little over exuberant with his chew toy, we were playing together with, and it was non aggressive.

The denial is similar to a religious experience across the board.

kind of lilke making up scenarios that havent occurred to try and reinforce your own irrational fear and then projecting them onto me?

Why is it you need to have animals around that you must train and watch like hawks to ensure they do not damage others ?

Why is it you need to try and put down others who have pets in a feeble effort to try and make yourself superior?

Heads up hot shot, youre not.........and your post to me pretty much illustrates just how insecure you are, by trying to lambaste others....

LoL pathetic
