Active Shooter Las Vegas - SWAT - 1 Dead - No News Coverage

Got a call from my mom who ownes a condo at the Newport Cove HOA in Las Vegas, Nevada. She told me there was an active shooter in the complex, that SWAT was on the property and there was at least one dead. I have searched the internet with nothing popping up. Anyone able to find anything on this?

This is happening where your mom lives? Did she have any other details? How big is this building out of curiosity? Wasn't sure which hotel you HOA was standing for.

I couldn't find anything either. One in Oregon earlier today did come up in a search though.

The info is the owner of one of the condos past away, his daughter moved in and turned it into a flop house. She then ditched the condo and left it in the hands of random people from many different states. One man shot down into the condo below, SWAT showed up and one person is reported dead. That's all I got.

It's not a hotel. It's a Home Owners Association of Condominiums. It's a nice place just off the strip near the needle.

The second one is it. The condos are at Decatur and O'Bannon. Don't know why there isn't more on this.

This isn't an uncommon event in Las Vegas. It will be on the morning news.

Decatur and O'Bannon

is a really bad neighborhood.

There's multiple local media sources covering it, so the media is in fact not "not covering" it.

I'm not sure why you think this needs to be a big deal? It's a standoff, not a shootout.

The reason would be the recent calls for violence from ISIS, specifically in Las Vegas and San Francisco. Granted, this may turn out to be something else, but in light of the call for action from ISIS, it bears closer examination a the very least.

So there needs to be national media scrutiny every time somebody pops off a round through their floor?

Mmmkay.

Not necessarily media scrutiny, but considering the timing it is worth investigating at least to the point that determines there is no relationship between the two. It doesn't have to be sensationalized.

The mere act of associating the two concepts every single time theres a shooting sensationalizes it.

Does this apply to every violent crime, then?

I agree. And it shouldn't be applied every single time theres a shooting. But when ISIS tells people to attack in Las Vegas by name, and then something happens in Las Vegas, it doesn't (or shouldn't) take a genius to think the two may be related. It should at least be investigated. Can you honestly say it shouldn't?

No. Of course not. Unless ISISS was just on social media telling people to commit those crimes in that exact place. Then it should at least be investigated. Don't you think so?

No, I in fact do not think that every last jackbag that pops a round off through his floor should be investigated for terrorist connections because his ignorant ass resides in a city ISIS mentioned.

Should we also investigate anybody who gets into it with a gay person for possible connections? ISIS doesn't like gays so I mean...there could totally be a connection.

Except it would happen on a location with lots of people, not some apartment somewhere. Also, looking on the web it looks like a shooting or related crimes are not very unusual, so no. ISIS is most likely not related, every city has its own share of violence and deaths and drugs and so on, an ISIS terrorist attempt would most likely be on a place with a hundred/thousand people, not just some random guy on an apartment.
