sorry for the lack of content, but for those who don't know... The England football team have just been knocked out of a major European football tournament by the team widely considered as one of the worst teams in the competition..

Prediction for tomorrow's headlines:

England face euro brexit. .

Brexit for England at euro 2016...

England brexit, euro 2016 brexit..

Really disappointed and Some just won't get that.. bit it is a sour pill...

Just seen in tv.. England manager Roy hodgeson resigns after iceland loss..

What's the difference between a tea bag and the english football team ?

Tea bag stays in the cup longer

Fortunately it's just a game, go Wales.

Saw the title, thought of one four-letter word. Saw the post, saw some hash symbols.

Anyway, it’s not a Brexit yet because Wales are still there.

Sorry Misterlondon! I just hope Rooney doesn't pull a Messi and stomp off in a fit!

Wales and Iceland still in? Indeed, the world is coming to an end!

(what is a little doom porn between futbol fans?)

Well done to Iceland. Their manager is a part time dentist apparently and with a population of 330,000 or so, they've done bloomin' brilliantly.

Come on Wales!!! ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

Blame the EU. Maybe it is the last chance to blame them for anything at all.

And why not be glad for the Icelanders. Get a beer from the fridge and cheer those guys!

The EU are guilty of many things but England's overrated under performing football team isn't one of them.

We all know who's going to win anyway.

Well, it was difficult to stay in after Brexit.

To be honest though, I didn't recognise that team tonight, they didn't look like they were interested or capable or both.

Well done Iceland, you've managed to embarrass us, embarrass the inventors of the game. It was only a matter of time.

We're not underachieving, we're just bad. Bunch of overpaid players who can't play as a team, Iceland schooled us today on how to play as a team and not 11 individuals/divas on the pitch. Last good team we had was the Euro 96 squad where we could have won the tournament if not for penalties and Germany, ever since then we've been absolutely rubbish

You may say sore loser or whatever. ..

But f that.. I'm pissed..

I wanted England to progress in this tournament.

When the team do well, it reminds me of a time when people were proud to be English. . And when oasis were playing on jukeboxes up and down the land.. and when the atmosphere and feeling was great here..
Now its a s### hole with little hope and little feeling of unity.
I suppose it just reminded me of the 90's and being a young man again. .
.The country now is a s###hole with little hope for the future.. sorry to be harsh to my fellow Brits but that's just the way it us now...

After being totally abject at Liverpool I thought Hodgson might grow into the England job as a sort of grandfather of English football like Bobby Robson did. Sadly I think he was found out for what he was. Just an average manager at teams with no expectations of winning anything and a poor one with higher expectations.

In all we saw a series of diminishing returns from tournament football in Hodgson's time. He had to go.

But that now leaves avoid at the FA. Do we go foreign or stick with a British manager?

Sven was a breath of fresh air until Euro 2004. He was just going through the motions after that. He had the golden generation and did OK. But OK was not good enough. Capello was another one who failed when it came to playing in a South African winter in temperatures that surely suited English players. It's no excuse saying we are tired because a whole bunch of foreigners in every tournament earn their pay at English clubs. Why aren't they as exhausted?

So what of our latest failure in the 50 years of hurt?

It was very like an old fashioned FA Cup tie. Iceland played like a League 1 side playing one of the top 4 in the Premier League. Yet we couldn't work it out and Hodgson did a "McLaren UEFA Cup gamble" by throwing on forwards at the end in a hope it would suddenly come right. It didn't work.

Of course it's not all Hodgson's fault. He can't be blamed for Joe Hart's poor goalkeeping. He can't coach players how to take on and beat a man to perfection. He can't stop glory hunting forwards from taking pot shots from way outside the box. But he can decide to not pick Harry Kane for corners and free-kicks. He can also decide to do what few have done since Sir Alf Ramsey and pick round pegs for round holes.

So congratulations Iceland. I will never shop in your frozen food stores again. Why?

Well because I fear it will only upset an Englishman for a second time.

I feel like we made you feel like this right now (in context of the 90's ref. up there)

Truly sry.

And I hope you will cope with all this.

ETA:

Feel as if I was a little rude. I normally cheer for England in all cups since I was over there with my family at our cousins house (who used to live there and married a Brit.) in 96 when Gazza was the 'stick it to the man, Man'.

We try to be humble over here on the little island. We have great respect for all of your players as the PL is THE league to watch over here. Almost every kid idolizes their own PL team and players. You'll be great one day. I know it.
