UKIP leader Nigel Farage appeared on the UK show "Good Morning" this morning, and they asked him if he could promise that the £350m a week that we pay to the EU would now go back into the NHS....one of the things he harped on about in the leave campaign.....one of the main slogans that was emblazened across the leave tour bus....he said no.

He said it was a mistake saying that, and that it shouldn't have ben promised. The presenter grilled him that many people had voted purely on promises like this. He had no answer.

I can't link the video but it's excruitaing to watch.....it's on the Good Morning Facebook page and is doing the rounds rather quickly for obvious reasons.

a reply to: CX I don't trust the nhs in a ukip Tory coalition and don't expect the British public to fight to keep it, I knew Farage was full of it and this was a ruse from the moment it was brought up. I mean who was going to staff all these new hospitals?

All of the leavers are Putin's agents. Now they should face sanctions and Olympic ban. Oh, wait...
I'll buy a pack of Dorset Cereals today in Moscow to support the UK's economy.

No, I'm not ignorant of why you need the dependency of the E.U, that's why I said you should have your independence and get back in.

If your post didn't come across as sarcastic I might believe you...

Good form, folks. Let everyone freak out for a bit, then maybe they'll break out of it and build upon the mighty kingdom. 🇬🇧

Fallout already happening, the brexit leaders are already backtracking on promises. Why is anyone suprised! Oh and it's all Jeremy Corbyn's fault ! Unfricking believable.

Since this is ATS I am allowed to have a prediction:

1. Johnson or Gove as PM, probably Johnson.
2. Farage and UKIP will disappear into obscurity since their raison d'etre gone.
3. Northern Ireland is totally dependant on it's links to the republic. There is (was) no border, trade, people, goods etc flow freely. It make 100% economic and logistical sense for them to join the Republic.
4. The proverbial will fly for a couple of weeks, the fallout will get worse and then Nicola Sturgeon will announce a referendum of Scottish independance. This has to happen BEFORE any dismantling of EU links takes place.
5. Financial institutions and service industries who are utterly dependant on EU have a decision to make BEFORE any EU dismantling takes place. Financial institutions don't like unknows and uncertainty. I would hazard a guess many will move their HQ to Europe.
6. Fishermen will complain when they are no longer allowed to fish in EU waters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. The EU will not break up despite all the clamour from right wing parties abroad. My guess is the EU will calm things down with some long needed policy changes. Inevitable policy changes I might add.
8. Wales will still have an identity crisis and not know what the f to do!

Things will happen very fast.

Did some of our brothers and sisters across the pond really just vote for their own sovereignty?

I am amazed and filled with hope for our own situation here.

Congrats to everyone who voted leave, condolences to the who voted to stay. I am happy for this result and I hope it truly ends up being the best result for our UK friends.

It was a close call and it certainly took cojones in my opinion to cast aside the EU for the sake of controlling their own destiny. Thank you, friends, for showing us around the world that we can do the same.

Im just happy to see nigel farage and boris johnson rip the arse clean out the UK as all the people that voted for it are in dismay that none of the things they promised will happen.

The 4th reich is rising

all I hear is the imperial death march playing in the background

im sure everyone will love whats coming , what we have allowed to happen

And we are no longer slaves to an unelected elite who care nothing for us.

Plus we get a party.

And if you guys want a referendum again, that's fine. I'd rather we were all friendly neighbours than grumpy housemates.

As someone who hates the eu as organization in its current state, i cannot help but laugh at all these comments, especially from the uk members, who say theyre finally free, as if their country was not leading eu in the first place, along side with germany and france and italy. Its so funny. The uk basically holds part of responsibility for the state of eu, but no, lets try and present it as if the uk was trapped or something

its so funny. I mean, just yesterday, the eu sanctions against russia were prolonged, thanks only to uk, even though france and germany were against it. And now, they left the uk.

I mean, if the uk is not a part of the establishment thats running this world, i dont know who is.

Cannot wait to see what will happen with scotland and ireland now, since they majorily voted in favor of staying in eu. Also, there are calls from scotland to hold another referendum for its independency.

Fun timea ahead of us

I couldn't care less, Wales and England voted leave and as a Welshman living in England, if the whinging Scots and N.Ireland want to leave the UK then # off. It won't affect my life in any noticeable way.
