Some say I ought to give up,
Looking for real love,
And just take any tail that comes my way,
Some say that I'm just washed up,
That this world ain't about love,
It's just about surviving come what may,
Well ain't it all depressing,
When even friends are oppressing,
Ones way of life,
And ain't this life a hardship,
When all you have to feel it,
Is the balancing act on the knife,

Don't it make you heartsick,
When the ladies fall in love with dicks,
Rather than seeing your poets soul?
Don't you find yourself,
Wishing for your own health,
That you could just fall into a hole?
And doesn't it frustrate you,
When the universe castrates you,
And makes you fill an unfillable role?

Well it's damned near killing me,
It's one thing to live so free,
But another to live all alone,
Absent any feeling,
For so long it leaves me reeling,
As I stumble my way home,
And don't think that I can't see it,
Trust me-I can perceive it,
Despite these beer goggles I have on,
Don't think that I don't wonder,
Which moment as I wandered,
It was that I went so wrong.

Oh I could second guess myself,
Until it became bad for my health,
But that's not the way I roll,
I'm twistedly determined,
Until I know it firmly,
To prove wrong those who said,
That I will never be whole.

I am sorry it made you sad. Given that the most operative word in my user name is True, I am not going to lie to you...I am finding it very hard to stay motivated. My friends tell me that what I am looking for does not exist, and everything about my circumstances tells me that, if I did find what I am looking for, I would be unworthy of having it.

To be honest, I am having a terrible bloody time, and I don't know what to do. All I have is the ability to express myself lyrically really. It's absolutely the only thing that gives me any release at all, and even that fact chills my heart.

I know it is possible to be lonelier than I am, but for the life of me and the love of God, I just cannot actually conceptualise how that could be.

You live in such a big place with so many people and I can't imagine that there isn't those who fit your criteria.

Are you, subconsciously, sabotaging yourself?
Could you be denying yourself happiness?
You said that if you found that person, you may be unworthy. Have you set the bar so high that no one can ever reach it?

That would be a song to drink a lot of whiskey to. (the e in whiskey was intentional, I always favour the Irish stuff when I want to get emotional)

Amen to that.

I am not a whiskey man myself. Too pirate for my own good... It's a measure of rum for me, but it does the same thing. Gets the feelings up by the surface, where I and my feelings cannot hide from one another.

I have to say that with all your amazing attributes, I find it hard to believe that some woman hasn't claimed you as her own and been proud to do so. Great poem!
