I post a response that pretty well sums this up, that these are fringe loonies who don't represent any bigger group or movement, and it's immediately followed by four bickering "shut up, no you shut up!!" posts. ATS is getting grosser...

Yes, and I along with most of my generation and older well know the history of ACT UP. They are pretty much in the league of PETA as far as attention grabbing and nuttiness. I can guess why you are asking, and I don't appreciate it.

Islam and Christianity are both anti-LGBT
So in your mind there is no difference between taking philosophical position in a debate and rounding gays up in trucks for public execution? It's all black and white to you?

Yes, but Deborah Fikes is not a known, anti-LGBT leader. Tony Perkins is.
As a so called 'homophobe' I never heard of the guy until this thread.
Known eh.

It's a question because by your statement it did seem that you think all Muslims are the same. If not then what was the point of your statement?
You said this:
The people you mentioned are a VERY tiny minority and do not represent Christians in the western world. For you to make the comparison in an attempt to apologize for extreme Islam is transparent and pathetic.
It is the same way with Muslims. Radical Muslims are a tiny minority too and do not represent Muslims in the western world.
And I find it insulting that you accused me of apologizing for extreme Islam.

So in other words Christians "are a little better than" Muslims today because of the numbers?

Thanks. You guessed wrong. But, no issue.

Oh, I know you are an ally. My problem is with virtue signalling through using the privilege totem pole to shut down opposing views. Straight guys are more than welcome to have and express opinions on groups like ACT UP. If that wasn't what you were gearing up for then I'm glad.
I think it is important with examples like this to try to express to those outside of LGBT activism that tiny vocal minorities do not represent the whole, by any stretch. Painting this as any part of the barely-existent "gay agenda" is damaging to progress in seeing individuals as individuals, who aren't defined by race, gender, or sexual orientation. The regressive left are (disgustingly) pushing the once-conservative idea that all people are and should be defined by those things.
