Hear hear!

I am assuming that all of the relevant data and links are still in existence and it is just a coding snafu that has caused the problems with the top thread in ATS history.

Having added a portion of what was contained within the referenced thread, this does have a bit of a personal meaning to it for me.

And quite likely for others as well.

The information and links within that thread are like nothing to be found anywhere else on the net.

Please keep us updated on this!

Concur Jaded. There are some intense days and research I thought was forever documented in that thread. Tepco and Japan have been hit with bills. Big time finally. It's time for General Electric and the others noted in that thread to start paying up and for solutions that have been proposed here and elsewhere to be openly and actively deployed. That thread is a compilation of evidence like none other.

ATS has it somewhere and we need it. Tepco and Japan, in admitting their part in the cover-up of three meltdowns (still), are signaling the world it is time for all hands on deck.

Thanks for the second on this motion. Very appreciated.

I would not need a whole lot of convincing information is being stifled should this thread not reappear in its entirety ....

Qmantoo archived all the links in that thread and as long as he has those we can reconstruct some of the information.

One of the things that can't be replicated is the user comments and excerpts of articles that are no longer hosted at their original websites and we know that things disappeared many times after having been posted within that thread.

That thread is the electronic archive of an incredibly important collaborative effort of a lot of people.

There were predictions made which were suprisingly accurate, analysis by professional experts, exposure of deliberate lies, and much more besides.

It is literal history.

I don't recall the last time I was in it, but i think it was earlier this year. Unfortunately I can't recall more precisely.

Please, ATS PTB, bring it back.

It is an oddity....I have no answer.
It may have to do with the size of the thread....but that is my uninformed guess.

Let me see if i can get a better answer...

Please and thank you!

I know it's not a cause du jour, but it is still very important that the original thread be made available in its entirety due to the nature of the information contained therein.

I noticed on the DDoS attacks thread that some were talking about taking archived threads off the main database to mitigate attacks through bots. Could this thread have been taken off and somehow not relocated?

And a musical interlude, while we wait.

ETA: Playing this one too because I like it and no one else is in here anyway. Might as well jam a bit.

Well, I'm one another keeping my eyes on this issue. And as we aren't getting any updates the past week, I've started to recover it myself. Cca. 4-500 pages I have already saved by scraping the wayback machine, and there are another 300 links I have to find a better way than manually saving them one by one, scraping fails on them, and I'm yet to learn the reason why. I'm not sure if all the 1400 pages are recoverable, and also I couldn't get them linked together so every page has to be opened individually can't link to the next page (even tho the external links are working) and that is a big pita. I'm sure someone with a better understanding of html coding and scripting could do a much better job. If nobody comes up with anything better, I'm planning to share my results in a few days.

Here is a link to the 2nd page as the first is available anyways...

web.archive.org/web/20130905173323/www.abovetopsecret.com...
here you can go next page and it will all be there one after the other!

Also here is a query of the Wayback Machine for this thread
web.archive.org/web/*/www.abovetopsecret.com...*

can't post this links, no matter hyperlinked or not it gets cut in half, copy - paste them in two parts, it's working!
edit on 2016/7/2 by awatara because: grrrr forum engine is ruining the link no matter hyperlinking or not....

So, here we go. 959 pages in total. The best way I found to handle it, is the Firefox addon called ScrapBook X.
Unpack the RAR somewhere and import that folder into ScrapeBook X. I found this plugin giving an easy access to the pages, and you can make sidenotes, highlights, inner links, or even edit the html individually.

Going through the pages quickly, I found most of the youtube videos unavailable, but plenty of pictures are there, the links are working unless the site behind went unavailable, and even then... wayback machine that s__t, make your own folder beside the downloaded one, save it, and you can make an "inner link". Pretty clever addon, stays with me for sure! ^^
There are also pictures that doesn't seem to show up, try to copy-paste the "dead" link, dump the first (waybackmachine) part and use just that original link. Seems to do the magic many times.

I know it's far from perfect, and it's still available on the waybackmachine, but at least it's fast, surely won't get lost if you have your backup plan, doesn't try to load those non-existing pages, nor gives you headache to find the next available one. Unfortunately those missing ones went missing for real, unless the admins can and will recover it.

So here is the download link.

I am humbled that another member would give so much time and effort, especially since ATS leadership hasn't overly followed up. I am sharing your news with others on Part 2. Bless you. Truly. Will dig in

Not even close to the effort of those who contributed the thread, but certainly (milky)way over the admin team's on this one. :

The loss of that thread is so shocking I still don't believe it has happened and I'm waiting for the admins to recover everything perfectly from their backup. I mean if I have all my stupid msn conversations, 6k+ emails and 60k+ photos, numerous savegames, thousands of screenshots from mmorpg, all this dating back to 2000-2002 right here available on my pc, than maybe, just maybe, that thread should have been backed up somewhere with a little extra care. Like an offline HDD/memcard sitting in a drawer or such... like me with my stupid selfish datas. Just this is a slightly bit more important for humanity.... UNBE-FreaKIN-LIEVABLE. If I was an admin here I would have it just because it's a conspiracy website so I suppose TPTB would hack (or don't even have to???) and delete certain unconfortable things...
Or just because the devil never sleeps...

Hope they come here soon to contradict me and make me look stupid...
