Regardless, the point is that one CAN be sentenced to jail for years just for driving across the NJ state line with a gun that is legal in PA.

And why should she even have to give up her gun for that?

Because their story is that they were going into NYC to "rescue" a girl / woman who is a "drug addict" and is / was being "held against her will."

That is pretty much textbook vigilante.

Because that is the way the law is written and as I explained earlier the Supreme Court here has ruled that ignorance of the law is not an excuse.

Additionally, she could have brought the handgun here under certain circumstances. Having it loaded was not one of them.

My issue is there are federal firearms guidlines and as long as those are followed then state should be satisfied. It's when states want to over reach the federal guidlines and screw the average joe and trap them into some pointless legal battle. People should be against that. State laws are important but when you have interstate travel everyone needs to be on the same page and know the same laws apply.

States right's.

Our traffic laws are different too and the morons that drive here and try to do stupid things (like cut through the middle of a highway to make a left) are supposed to know what the law is. While I think our gun laws in New Jersey are imbecilic they are what they are and people need to be aware of them prior to bring their firearms here.

Don't worry.
Trump will make sure the stupid inter-state gun restrictions are eliminated.

Doubtful, since that is the legislature's job.

Obama seems to be oblivious to that fact:
White House Obama Profoundly Frustrated Ready For More Executive Action On Gun Control

I think Trump could get it done. He can encourage a Republican Congress to push through laws, knowing that the POTUS has their back and will sign it.

Dear Leader will not get anything meaningful via Executive Order and neither would Trump if elected.

Nor should they, I do not want an imperial President.

Still not buying it. Do "Heroin dealers" usually have GI issue helmets with helmet cams installed?

This article has much more information regarding this:
www.mcall.com...

As mentioned previously in this thread, these people were going to rescue a 16 year old girl from a dangerous situation.

Cramsey is an administrator of the anti-heroin Facebook group "Enough is Enough." He has attended numerous town hall meetings across the Lehigh Valley in recent months to voice concern over the heroin epidemic in the area, calling for authorities to do more to punish drug dealers.

Outside Higher Ground Tactical, the gun range at 5402 Chestnut St., Upper Milford, one of Cramsey's friends spoke to The Morning Call Tuesday afternoon on the condition that his name not be published. The man said that since his daughter's death, Cramsey has become "extremely involved in rescuing" heroin users from environments fostering their addiction.

Gotta love the Daily News

Cops nab trio of 'vigilantes' at Holland Tunnel with loaded guns, 'America' gun clip and 2,000 rounds of ammo

Relax. All three are "white."

Nice truck.

From wiki on definitons of "whiteness".

North Africans in the United States Edit

Main article: North Africans in the United States
Under the U.S. Census definition and U.S. federal agency, individuals with ancestry from North Africa are considered white. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations also explicitly define white as "original peoples of Europe, North Africa, or the Middle East."[50]

Most North Africans in the U.S. are of native North African origin, including Berbers, Copts, Arabs, Arab-Berbers and Egyptians. They are among the more numerous Arab American groups.

African Americans and admixture

Main article: African American
Laws dating from 17th-century colonial America excluded children of at least one black parent from the status of being white. Early legal standards did so by defining the race of a child based on a mother's race while banning interracial marriage, while later laws defined all people of some African ancestry as black, under the principle of hypodescent. Some 19th-century categorization schemes defined people with one black parent (the other white) as mulatto, with one black grandparent as quadroon and with one black great grandparent as octoroon. The latter categories remained within an overall black or African-American category. Some members of these categories passed temporarily or permanently as white.[87] Until the Civil War, racial identity depended on the combination of appearance, African blood fraction, and social circle.[88]

However, since several thousand blacks have been crossing the color line each year, the phenomenon known as "passing for white", millions of White Americans have recent African ancestors. A statistical analysis done in 1958 estimated that 21 percent of the white population had African ancestors. The study concluded that the majority of Americans of African descent were actually White and not Black.[89]

Their motives and end game are questionable until the investigation is complete, even then if it turns out they are not drug dealers this will be whitewashed, nothing is black and white anymore, pun intended.

Btw, San bernadino had similar arsenal, is that helmet Kevlar like the one that saved the first responders life in Orlando?

Please note the link in the post above:

The locals already know these people, and know what they were doing.
One of the guys posted on Facebook while they were on the way, stating what they were doing.

It was not terrorism. They are not drug dealers.

The people involved should have known better regarding the NJ gun laws. But they were trying to do a good thing.

These are Christian men and women, not arabic, also they were tryin to rescue a 16 year old girl that was being held against her will in a place where they were giving her heroin. She's been there for days and one of her friends has died on the same bed that she has been sleeping on.

Cramsey lost his daughter and her boyfriend to a heroin overdose 4 mons. ago, he owns the indoor firing range here in PA. He is a grieving father just trying to fix the epidemic that the government doesn't seem too concerned with. He was trying to do the right thing; but went about it wrong. He's rescued countless others over the last few months. The group has been sticking their necks on the line to try and stop this huge amount of deaths since the whole Fentanyl swapped with Heroin has hit our area hard.

This guy has my admiration. He has a big heart.
Almost cried listening to this, but then felt very inspired.
Every single person can make a difference in the world.

I just wish he had been more careful about NJ gun laws.
I hope the police and prosecutor will consider his intent when they make their decisions.

This was not a case of being mistaken about the laws as the women we discussed earlier.

You did not listen to the video all the way through.
In the beginning he talked about his anger when he first grieved for his daughter. And how at that time, he wanted to kill.

Then he came to his senses and found a different way to deal with this.
He started helping people.
He even says he does not want to kill anyone, because then he would never see his daughter in heaven.

I think his anger in the beginning was justifiable.
But he found a better outlet for the anger than revenge.
He explained in depth the process that he went through.

Yes, he should have known.
But the law is stupid anyway.
If you own a gun legally, you should be able to possess it any place in the country.
Not that this is a reason to violate the law, but it is a reason to work to try to change the law.

Why would I have to listen to the video? He loaded up his vehicle with loaded weapons and was not ignorant as to the laws in New York and New Jersey.
