My introduction and recent happenings

Hello everyone my name is Ryan, I don't believe in a lot of this weird conspiracy stuff and paranormal happenings I see being discussed here. That being said , some weird things have begun happening to me.

A few months ago I started seeing the numbers 11 11 and 333 , several times, every day. I thought nothing of it, I saw the mega millions lottery was at 333 million today I jokingly said to myself, ah it was a sign to play the lottery.

No I didn't win the lottery, I didn't even buy tickets, but I can't help but feel my number sightings are tied to whatever happened to me last night. I awoke this morning with this sort of target looking symbol on my left shoulder. It is massive. My girlfriend was the one who spotted it and asked me what it was, I had no idea it was even there. I looked at in the mirror after telling her Dunno probably slept on something.
Upon looking at it , it was not bed lines or a temporary imprint. It is sort of burned or scratched in. It has light scabbing type of appearance to it. There is no pain. I searched my bed and room for any object resembling the pattern that could be responsible for the mark. I found nothing. I am bamboozled and concerned and weirded out all at once. I came here seeking opinions or advice or anyone who may know what the hell this is or a possible explanation. Maybe someone who has had a similar experience?

I'm not crazy I'm not making this up I want to rationally explain this away so I can get on with my normal mundane routine. Thanks guys!

Hey man welcome.

Some say our minds are programed to see patterns. So seeing repeating numbers is not uncommon you just notice them. That's the best I can give you without getting into all of the afore mentioned paranormal stuff.

The mark on your shoulder is very indicative of a tick bite.

Being that big and the surrounding circle having a scab like burn appearance? I will look into tick bites, thank you for the post!

I would get that marking checked by a doctor. As JinMI, posted it may be a tick bite. I got bit by a tick and you have to take antibiotics. Make an appointment asap... be well and enjoy your stay here on ATS!

I did , I can see a resemblance but I don't think that's what it is, I live in the dessert I've been at home , there are very few ticks here and this has no pain or irritated or anything. I was all happy like Yup, tick bite, case closed. But after reading and comparing I can unfortunately rule that out I'm fairly certain it is not

Well, I can't tell you what to do, but as the above poster suggested, I would see a doc and rule it out. Lyme disease is nasty. www.webmd.com...

Seeing patterns in numbers and in everything acutally is perfectly normal. It's the way our brain is wired. Evolution made it like this to identify anything interesting in a sea of random noise.

It's the same thing that makes us see faces in the cloud.


We all see 11:11 (or 22:22 where clock display it) and all kind of repetion patterns all the time. 11:11 happens 2 times per day on a clock, it's extremely common. What is important is you remember it, while you forget seeing 09:32 or 11:54.

Don't stress it out and don't think it has a special meaning, it's the kind of thought that can drag you into a rabbit hole to craziness.

That's all well and good, and I agree, but why is it I'm compelled to check the time at those exact moments? Or that my order number is 333 or various other coincidence that happen to throw out 333 ? I rarely check the time and it seems when I do, or when I get woke up, it is 333. And all this started just recently. I do believe it sheer coincidence and random, I just thought it odd and figured I would share

Because your subconscious mind knows it's 11:11 and will make you check around that time to validate your belief that it means somethings.

Probabilities are really a fascinating subject. When you study it you see that our mind is really bad at evaluating them, and what we imagine is "unlikely" is actually very likely.



Simple question to illustrate this. How many people do you think it takes in a group to have a 50% probability that two of them have the same birthday? Answer from your gut feeling, don't check it online.

Dont go gettin all autistic on us now those numbers do not mean #e. Your brain can crunch numbers for logical reasons and illogical ones guess which one this is.

Well , 365X 2 is the most logical way but not necessarily true. So my answer would be 730. But it's probably a much smaller group, as that's assuming each person's birthday was on a different day

It's actually 23. If you have 23 people in a room there's a 50% chance 2 of them share their birthday.

That's really how bad our mind is at evaluating probabilities It blew my mind the first time.

Remember it each time your mind tells you something is unlikely.
