I will caveat.

Socialism is just a tool. Only as useful as the person wielding it.

And socialism will work and be very effective just as soon as you rid all humans of greed and corruption.

Let me know when that happens, will you?

So is Capitalism, no? Simply a tool. At this point, a broken tool that needs to be reforged. I will gladly secede that pure Capitalism is probably better than pure Socialism (taking the awful nature of humans into account), but you really need them to work in tandem if you want what's best for the entirety of the species, rather than a strict minority.

Correction: Unfettered Socialism is part of the problem and is bad (if that's even what Venezuela has) just like unfettered Capitalism is bad.

Unfettered anything is bad...is that your point?

Ok, I'll agree one glass of wine a day is good for personal consumption, 5 bottles a day is bad...

Or is the bait alluring to the worn-out and tired argument of a 'good socialism is better than a bad capitalism'

Good analogy.

Giving US politicians the options for socialism is like giving alcoholics the keys to a liquor store.

No, the point is that total Capitalism and total Socialism are both f*cking awful, and that hard-right Reaganomics believing free-market Capitalism worshiping dreamers need to realize that their ideals are just as unfeasible as total Socialism, both are idiots.

Out of curiosity, what were your views on Socialism before the Cold War? Can you remember?

I will once again reiterate: You already have Socialism. A lot of it. It just benefits rich people rather than poor people.

Ergo one glass of wine a day is a good thing for the body, five bottles a day will kill it

You do see the point I made? No?

hahahaha, I'm old but I'm not that old. I wasn't around in the 1940's.

And you just described socialism to perfection!

Maria Arias slipped her notebooks into her backpack, scrounged for a banana to share with her brother and sister, and set off for high school through narrow streets so violent taxis will not come here for any price. She hoped at least one of her teachers would show up.

But her 7 a.m. art class was canceled when the instructor called in sick. History class was suspended. There was no gym class because the coach had been shot dead weeks earlier. And in the afternoon, her Spanish teacher collected homework and then sent the students home to meet a gang-imposed curfew.

"It's a trap," the slight 14-year-old with pink lipstick complained as she sat in the shade of a picked-over mango tree at the school's entrance. "You risk your life to be here and end up waiting around for hours doing nothing. But you have to keep coming because it's the only way out."

Man...that story..
Read that again first, i dare anyone,

Meanwhile in the west SJW's are who are living comfortable privileged lives are out in the streets and on fancy television shows pretending to be oppressed and fighting some sort of hard fight that they imagine, fighting the oppression while they prance around in their branded clothing, iPhone in their hand, going out for dinner, receiving paychecks for work, SJW speeches and their ex husbands while living under protected laws as a protected group.

And still it is not enough. Still they claim they are oppressed for a million made up reasons.

Fighting for their lives:
[SNIP]

Complaining at the U.N about bad words:

Here they are, putting their lives on the line to

Worrying about "micro agressions"

What are these venezualian kids complaining about huh? Look at these poor western SJW's look at their tremendous battle they have to put up to be able to even just go to the toilet.

The world is sick and crazy and all you people who belong to the group you see up here are making me sick.

Socialism has long since been a failure but there are people still fighting for it. We can just add this to the mountain of evidence that will soon be avoided.

Yay, more anti-Socialist whining and fearmongering.

You want to know why Millennials love Sanders so much? Because he's pointing out the flaws in the corrupt and broken American Capitalism (which is really just reverse Socialism that takes from the poor and gives to the rich). Because YOU (speaking in general, not you specifically) and your Capitalist ideologies have failed them. Because 40 years of Reaganomics is 40 years too much.

His solution is to turn to an even more corrupt and broken system.

Socialism. In Venezuela, the only negative role socialism has really played is in stifling entrepreneurialism.

They have the same issue Mexico has: undeveloped industry leaving them reliant on the price of oil. When oil is up, they do well. When oil is down, they starve.

There are myriad reasons behind this....but a major reason has to do with US politics. We have done one hell of a job interdicting ourselves in latin political systems.

Doesn't really matter much what label is hung onto the economic system of a country... if the huge vast majority of wealth created flows up to the top very few of the population, you're gonna have problems. Call it communism, socialism, capitalism, whatever. Doesn't matter. The problem is too much wealth concentrated in too few hands. Any economy is going to stagnate and eventually collapse.

I'd give you thirty stars if I could. Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, all have ultimately ended up as plutocracies, oligarchies, or dictatorships. America, for instance, is currently an Oligarchy, which is what Capitalism tends toward.

Of course you turn this into a Sanders smear thread. Yes, cause we all know Bernie wants America to not only rely on its oil industry he also wants to nationalize it to support his communist ways.

Funny, do you get upset when people compare Trump to Hitler or will that be your next thread?
