Had a pretty strange dream last night. I don't remember the reason but a group of friends and I had to bug out of Phoenix do to society breaking down. As we got to the border which is usually open I was shocked to see that a giant wall was preventing us from leaving America. We were trying to cross in a location we hunt every year. The wall resembled Battlefield 3's Caspian border level which was kinda cool. I really don't remember much else I usually don't with dreams. Just had this thought after I woke up that this wall might not be for what they say it is. If Trump thinks a wall is going to stop immigration then he's dreaming. Every other month they discover a new tunnel under Nogales. This is not a prediction, just a thought after a weird dream.

I am not a Trump or Hillary supporter just saying that now.

Whether that is the intent or not, that will be the inevitable result.

If you erect a physical barrier to impede the migration of others, don't be upset when it impedes your own migration. A wall is an inanimate object. It doesn't care what nationality you are, how much money you have, or which direction you are going.

If you want to get out, for any reason, it will stop you. These pro-wall people aren't thinking the matter through.

I've already stated that U.S.A is heading towards a "Mockingjay" scenario. I really do expect it.

And you thing Trump is the antithesis of freedom?

He's no damned savior, that's for sure.

But he's certainly no Hillary or Obama.

I have never really expressed any interest to visit 'Not USA' , so I could care less. Walls work both ways, there is nothing new about that fact. There is waaaaaay too much land, and beautiful land at that to visit in the states to worry about traveling anywhere else. I'll help him build the damn wall myself. I'll do it right too, cuz I got that Hispanic blood in me and we don't quit!

There has been more than 100,000 murders/deaths on the Mexican side of the border.
I assure you OP one will be trying to illegally immigrate to Mexico for a "better life" anytime soon.
Besides with stiff immigration laws Mexico would just send you back anyway.

In reality...
If it got so bad in America people would run to the welfare state Trudeau is creating in Canada over the chaos that is Mexico.

I am in the same boat, not a supporter of either, but do dislike Hillary more than Trump, I can honestly say that. Doesn't mean I will vote, or vote that way.

But as far as the wall. It has always throughout history been built to "protect" it's people inside from marauders, killers, trying to get in. That's why China built the 23,000 mile wall to protect its' people. During the medieval times the fortress walls were to protect those inside.

So, as American, I am not afraid of not being able to go.....but would love to see our borders tightened up with appropriate security. A wall with a big beautiful door. I guess that is what he said. Why can't we all just agree, if you wish to immigrate to the USA, then go through the legal process. Don't break the law and come here illegally. What about the millions who have done it the correct way, and waited years, but are now legal and are Americans?

Build the damn wall........build a huge moat, fill it with alligators, electrified fence. At this point I really don't care about being politically correct. I just want you to come and knock on the door, ring the bell, and declare yourself, then follow the procedures and laws to enter this country legally.......is that really so difficult to grasp???

If you have a burning desire to go to Mexico, any wall may make it more difficult. But a wall there is hardly the only way out of America. If I were headed out, it wouldn't be that way.

I doubt the majority of Americans want to leave, nor have the ability or money to do so realistically.

Because, you know, you'll have options. Things will have gotten so horrendous that you decide to flee your own country, and you think you'll have a choice about which way to go? You'll go in the direction with the fewest people trying to take everything you have and kill you.

I'd like to keep my "options" open in such an event. But that's just me.

If there's a catastrophic event, and for some reason Americans have to escape to Mexico to save their lives, we're screwed. Donald will just jump into his private helicopter and fly over it while waving goodbye to us suckers.

Right. That's just you. And if the only "option" were Mexico? Like it's a more enlightened place in so many ways? Much less crime? Better standard of living? Not. If it were bad here (and it isn't), going there would be like the next level of Hell where a lot more people would have a chance to take everything I have and kill me. No thanks.

You're probably right, but the word "catastrophic" got me thinking:

It doesn't have to be political turmoil that sparks migration. What if Yellowstone explodes and the entire surviving population of the western US becomes refugees overnight?

The wall doesn't care.

Only to get whacked in the face by a Donald Sutherland drone.

Oops Freudian Slip, a Donald Trump border patrol drone.

Amazing how Hollywood picked an actor named Donald who keeps Americans in a prison - 'Hunger Games'. Trumps' wall is going to do exactly the same thing.

All walls are mean to keep things in as much as they are to keep things out.

That said, you're going to find it a really hard sell to insinuate that we're trying to keep Americans in. No one is running across the border from the north for a better life in Mexico.

There will be no wall. Texas can't even get enough skilled workers to build houses.

Trump supporters will believe the most BS stories from the Donald.

LOL Um, we are already "in". Obviously, the wall is necessary for security.

More reason to move to Texas.

Their unemployment rate is pretty low and demand is super high.

I spend a lot of time in Mexico. Surfing, fishing, drinking and making films.
I would love to be able to retire there!!
Most people dissing Mexico have never spent any time there.
