Bulgaria Won’t Be Part of NATO Fleet in Black Sea, Premier Says

Good on Bulgaria ! and Bulgaria knows what it means.

“To send warships as a fleet against the Russian ships exceeds the limit of what I can allow,” Borissov told reporters in Sofia on Thursday. “To deploy destroyers, aircraft carriers near Bourgas or Varna during the tourist season is unacceptable.”

“Russia won’t attack Bulgaria with tanks and missiles,” Borissov said citing historical ties based on the Christian Orthodoxy religion the two countries share. “Their actions on Bulgarian territory are different, mostly economic.”

Brotherly love.

Hmm, as if the massive Bulgarian naval armada made any difference. Best to sit on the sidelines, rope-a-dope, and sidle up to whomever comes out as winners.....

Er. There are many NATO countries who don't deploy ships into the Black Sea.

Besides, if the OP did the research, s/he would find Borissov was disagreeing with a proposition put forward by Romania for a joint naval force comprising Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine.

But they are part of NATO...and well it seems that the OP likes to make up his own narrative on stories just to bash NATO.

Seems to be a reoccurring scenario here as of late.

Ukraine didn't think Russia would invade them either and we see the result of that...If you have one person who speaks Russian...you could be next in the we are here to protect ethnic Russians lie that Putin uses to come for a visit with little green men who remove their insignias from their uniforms.

Ukraine didn't think Russia

Knowing who runs the show now in Ukraine i dont think Ukraine cant do anything about their choices. Why you think joe biden son is in Ukraine for the gas company? its all about the interests.

Russia has only one interest and that's its connection to the past. While Americans only care about Gas and Oil. Trust me if Ukraine had none of those things.

America wouldn't care if Russians ran over them.

Here's a point.

If Rwanda had Milk and Honey you would be seeing the same war mongers demanding action in Rwanda to save the innocents but since Rwanda had no "National interests" no F was given about Rwanda. On the news media.

Seems Bulgaria follows Slovakia, Czech and Hungary, to cool down the desires of some in NATO to put those small countries on the frontline with Russia in potential conflict, while they themselves stay aside.

Of course militarily speaking those smal countries are insignificant against the overwhelming Russian power in the region. Here political weight is sought. But it is double edge sword. If you go back 80 years in that region, you will see all kinds of dramatic changes in pre-WW2 stage.

I could say the same about how you Americans are using it as a pretext to destroy the middle east while protecting the Jewish state. And their sphere of influence.

Russia has more rights to do what it with their ethnic groups unless you prefer these ethnic groups to be wiped out.

NATO, NATO...Greece is part of NATO but at odds with another member of NATO Turkey. Now Turkey wants to form coalition with Romania and Bulgaria to resolve its regional interests against Russia, or what? Let not forget the Russian shot down jet, while Turkey was not at war with Russia at that time.

Yet another example that destroys the argument by people that NATO is solely run by the US, that NATO "occupies" nato members, that NATO members can't say no, etc etc etc.

Thank you for posting the article. It helps clear up a lot of misinformation / lies people spread about NATO.

Russia violating sovereign Turkish airspace with an armed military jet could be interpreted as an act of war.

although we discussed in other threads already, the entrance of the Russian jet in a curved borderline was about minutes or less. Turkey should have prepared in advance to expect the incident. Act of war, but on the side of Turkey. Not even NATO.Unlike Turkey, Russia got material loss and loss of life, not just trespass of imaginary borderline up in the sky with that hi speed for seconds. Incidents like that could become the start of WW3 IF the countries behind want to seek such incidents to indulge their already planned hostilities.

Erdogan is not the beloved politician in the West, in the NATO countries. Turkey should have been expelled from NATO because NATO risks to sink together with Turkey. Instead, seems Turkey wants to bribe Romania and Bulgaria for a naval battle with Russia. Bulgaria said NO, as the topic of the thread, and that makes it honorable.

History is quite complicated in the Balkans before during and after WW2. Unlike America where one have unchallenged system for centuries, and where one cries wolf upon seeing some armored machines on the highway and is fast to report it in forums, in Europe, Eastern and Balkans everything changes quite fast. Let not forget WW1 started in Sarajevo. WW3 could have already started from the Kosovo airport incident.

NATO still does occupies after all does Russia have 800+ bases around the world? for someone to be a aggressor you need to have a military and a lot of bases and thats America.

Whats Russia's doing in Syria and Ukraine are Russia's affairs.

The difference in Bulgaria they dont have a NATO puppet who jumps on the war mongering bandwagoon. Without realizing what will happen. Also Canada seems to be out as well.

Canada is a peace keeper.

That was the point i was trying to make to him about the claims that Russia was the one violating sovereign Turkish airspace with an military jet, yet it was Turkey who nearly started an act of war with Russia.

I m not surprised to see a number of Turkey defenders in here.

WW3 could have already started from the Kosovo airport incident.

Yes ah yes i remember that one and it was good old NATO threatening Russia with a Nuclear response and just how NATO are doing it similar today.

How many warnings does Turkey have to give to Russia before protecting their airspace? The shoot down was not the first incident where Russia violated their airspace. Interestingly enough Russia has steered clear of violating Turkeys airspace since.

NATO doesn't occupy any country and if you did research you would know this. You would also know NATO does not have a standing army.

The rest of your post is worthless tripe that you throw out when you are proven wrong by facts.

Please educate yourself on these topics. You are looking ridiculous now. You claim you want to debate these topics yet your actions to date say otherwise.
