I honestly see these types of trails regularly, moreso as summer has come into full swing. One wonders if it is done under the guise of "cooling the planet" or perhaps its because it is and has been the ideal time for weather manipulation? Or perhaps the bouncing radar beams or holograms are easier to produce in summertime (being somewhat facetious here but you get my drift).

I genuinely find it hard to believe these are contrails but am willing to listen to alternative explanations. Here are the photos I've taken just now. If you wish to check the weather and/or air temps, pressure etc. look at the weather for Syracuse, New York. This website should help you get an idea of the weather in my area, just look at the patterns directly over Central New York.

Make of these what you will! To be clear I'm not definitively saying these are one thing or another, just want to open a dialogue! I'm sure others have some they would like to add to this thread as well, so feel free!

We get the same thing here in Los Angles and I too would like to know what this is. Nice thread.

Maybe its like, like birds migrating or meteor vapor trails?

Pretty sure its exhaust pollution from hi altitude combustion of jet fuel.

I thought the air temperature had to be relatively cold for that to occur. Either that or the air is super saturated or highly saturated with moisture therefore the water vapor coming out of the jet turbines immediately condenses into clouds with the help of airborn cloud-condensation nuclei. I only studied Meteorology for one semester before leaving because I had a drinking/smoking problem at the time so I admit I am not a weather expert.

So, you took a bunch of photos, showing the same thing over and over, and the focal point was pretty relative correct?

We are looking in a western direction right? in the photos that is.

So where is the flight tracker data that would help us see how many planes flew overhead.

We do kind of need at least one plane. A kick ass plane that can make super contrails.

I tried finding it in the rear-view but I failed.

Well it's still early perhaps if one flies by I will video it and upload it to Youtube or something. Or just take a photo as this Droid Turbo2 takes amazing pictures.

ok - why do you find it hard to accept that the images you post show contrails ?

If you notice in your pictures, there is already a layer of heavy cirrus clouds there. That indicates that conditions are perfect for persistent contrail formation. It's likely you have a change in weather coming soon. If you look into what makes clouds form, it helps a good bit in understanding contrails.

Or it could be a massive conspiracy that's been going on for over 20 years without a shred of verifiable evidence of ONE single person who is a credible witness. (I lean toward the science side)

I was under the impression that those clouds were formed as a result of previous trails dispersing over time. Also the weather for my area looks pretty consistently sunny until Sunday or Monday when perhaps a storm or two is expected.

The thickness of the trails, how wide they spread out, they should have evaporated somewhat over time but they persist.

Looking Eastward towards Albany and the Atlantic Ocean, and perhaps Maine and Vermont.

OK so we are looking southeast, have we looked into flight info?

New York is one entry and exit point for flights to and from Europe. They go up the coast, and around New York and Massachusetts they start turning east for Europe, depending on what the upper winds are doing. Or if they're coming from Europe, they do the reverse, and around that same area is where they start heading down the coast, or into US airspace depending on where they're going in the US.

How cold do you think it is where the trails are being formed?

those look like standard normal contrails and cirrus clouds...i dont see how that confuses you.

The air up there is always cold. Thats why we only see 'contrails' up there and not around airports, for instance.

Next time you see persistent contrails, note the other clouds you see. Generally you'll see cirrus and either cirrocumulus or nimbocumulus. Because the conditions that produce persistent contrails often produce these as well.

I think I've seen one day out here in lovely Kern County that it failed to be true.

Well lets say 20 to 30,000 feet, so based on these models it says 500mb (18k feet) is -10 Celcius, or 14 Fahrenheit at 06Z +10 aka 2AM + 10 hours = Noon. That seems difficult to believe but I suppose its correct.
Perhaps these are contrails. Then again I still say they shouldn't be that thick. There is also no other clouds in the sky anywhere and no planes flying around. I should've done this thread a few days ago when the sky was littered.
