I think you watch one too many westerns, you think every situation can be resolved by everyone just pulling out a gun and seeing who shoots better. I do really feel sorry for you.

As has been stated in another thread by someone else, I rarely resort to this, but you sir, are an idiot. Never did you say a trained military intelligence operative? Of course you did, you said me and I had already stated that I was one...lol.'

If someone has a gun to my wife's head will I go for my gun? HMMM considering I'm in a divorce right now, I just might...lol.

It would greatly depend on the circumstances. If I didn't already have a gun out and someone had a gun to someone's head, I would likely NOT try to draw my gun and shoot them.

If I already had my gun out and pointed at them it would depend on many factors as to whether I would try and shoot them or not.

The hostages position in relation to the gunman and myself, the distance between the gunman and myself. What type of gun he had. If I could see if the safety was engaged, if there was a round chambered indicator that I could see, etc...
The gunman's demeanor, physical reactions, etc...If he is high on drugs my decision would be different than if he was drunk, than if he was sober, than if he was exhibiting signs of schizophrenia...

The circumstances are NEVER as simple as, he has a gun to so and so's head and is threatening to kill them, what do you do?
