Ok so democrats want to take our guns away and republicans apparently want to profile middle easterners. Trump even said there should be a halt to immigration from Syria/Afghanistan/etc. If the republicans really wanted something else, they wouldn't have voted for Trump.

Can't we do something inbetween? That's what I'd like to see. Better background checks for those wanting a gun and for those coming here from elsewhere. But no extremes. I guess the two parties need to work together. However, that seems impossible whne every bill which passes is strongly lopsided. Ever watch CSPAN? It's quite common to see democrats vote 90% in favor of something and the republicans 90% against, or vice versa. That needs to end if we want a more balanced system. Maybe it'll never happen.

That's why I might vote independent again. Thw two party system is making is stereotype each other and think black and white.

Well, they have the right to do this, honestly.

I guess it's one way to force a conversation. Although I do think that its a fabricated and pointless conversation.

So basically they're throwing a tantrum until they get their way. Welcome to the political left.

you actually endorse every massacre then?

How about a formal investigation into the suspects who have the most compelling motive to kill masses of people, with guns, BEFORE any legislative initiative solution is introduced?

And that would be our rogue federal government.

Wonder if they'll adress the 1500+ people shot in Chicago this year?

I already know the answer...

Mostly from guns that are ILLEGAL!

Amazing spin.

FAIR question... If you want nothing DONE, then are you willing to accept some FAULT or GUILT when it happens again?

What if your SUPPORT could have helped PREVENT it from happening again?

Funny how when Trump says halt immigration from some countries the lefties go ape # but isn't that what Obama did in 2011 to Iraq refuges? Why? Because they presented a threat!

I'm more of a "less is more" kind of American when it comes to our government.

And the GOP has done far worse in the past. Arming Iranian rebels and allowing Iran to hold hostages until AFTER Regan's inauguration? Gulf War No. II?

Far more have died UNDER Republicans...the hands of the GOP are far more COATED in BLOOD.

It is nuts. That is one of the reasons I posted the HuffPo article.

There's a big difference between debt & deficit. Most experts say to watch the deficit.

Yes, and you know what? We are taking in record tax revenue, our economy is floundering, AND we STILL spend more than we take in, so how is that deficit again?

I've been on this earth long enough to have a good grasp of the human condition. I remember when MOTIVE used to be important in a criminal investigation. Accordingly, I believe the prime suspects in many of the recent mass-shootings are those benefitting from them: our rogue federal government.

So, I want to see a formal and thorough independent investigation into them BEFORE i even buy the 'official stories.'

They have the motive, means, and opportunity and they are NOT above slaughtering innocent people (even children) for a political agenda.

And I saw it with the Bushes, Clinton, AND Obama. Their administrations directed countless murders, so please spare me your partisan deflection.

Oh, Obama, the man who presents budgets 99 members of the senate vote against. Now I missed the part where 99 members of the senate were Republican, so that means that was a pretty resounding bipartisan rejection of the president's budget.

Keeping people from flipping out and going crazy truly isn't a government function.

It's more of a social one. WE need to figure out what has caused a decline in human morals. And by that I don't mean pointing the finger at some obscure group.

Quit relying on government to save you and maybe we can hash out the real problems here.
