I'm not calling out any conspiracy, nor do I have one. I am just having a bit of a hard time with some of the footage and what went on and figured some people here who had more of an explanation could help. But the weaponry forum is the first place I felt I could get a logical answer being that the SHOTS and LEO placement are what are confusing me.

I am going to list two videos showing a collection of shots fired footage. The reports are that there was ONE shooter, INSIDE the club. He started shooting at 2:00AM, took some hostages, shot more, and got into a shootout with cops. But the entire time, I thought he was INSIDE the club, and died there.

But the following videos don't make sense. There are rapid volleys of shots fired, which seems to be from cops, on the OUTSIDE. There also seem to be shots from a lone weapon, which are partially muzzled from the INSIDE. Both locations.

In this video, the videographer/witness is stating that they are shooting 'back and forth'. WHO? It definitely sounds like an exchange, but who are the cops exchanging with? I thought the Gunman was inside and holding hostages?

That video ends with a BARRAGE of bullets, which seems to be from the outside in the street.

Then there is this video which matches the volley or barrage, taken from a guy in the neighborhood.

There seem to be a lot of rounds fired and people involved. I can't make heads or tales of what is going on since it seems to be from multiple people, OUTSIDE.

My question is, who were the cops shooting at? Where they just spraying and praying? And where was the shooter if he wasn't INSIDE with the club people? How was he able to get into an exchange with all these cops?

Pardon my ignorance, but I don't get it.

I doubt anyone can answer your questions unless they were present there that night.

But I'm sure you will have no shortage of people coming in here to give you their opinion of what they think happened.

Also you'll probably get more details about what happened in the coming days and weeks.

I'm just hoping some LEOs or Military guys can explain what I'm hearing and why, and possibly identify the sound profile of the weapons, if I'm hearing reverb/echo, and WHY this all sounds as if it is a volley/firefight OUTSIDE.

We'll see.

If the shooter only had the one gun, it would be interesting to see autopsy or ballistic results. I wonder how many people may have been caught in the cross fire?

We don't really have a time frame for these. Were they taken as the police stormed the building? Gunshots are loud and rifle shots inside a building would easily be heard outside. If the shots were coming from the inside and windows were broken out, doors to the outside open, etc, you're going to hear it much easier.

I think you're hearing either a .223 or a 5.56. Those are not pistol shots. They would be a "softer" pop, not the "crack" you're hearing and not as loud.
I am a long time, experienced shooter, but Project and a couple others are our resident experts. Hopefully one of them will drop in.

a reply to: BatheInTheFountain This link might be a bit quicker www.cbc.ca...,,&mediaIds=2690330098,2690330959,2690330270&contentarea=radio&subsection1=radio 1&subsection2=currentaffairs&subsection3=as_it_happens&contenttype=audio&title=2016/06/13/1.3632981-as-it-happens---monday-edition&contentid=1.3632981

I will offer up some audio podcasts links from CBC .

The desperation to get friends out was something Barnes recalls to Anna Maria as people were rushing towards the nightclub. "I love people. I didn't want to be that person that wasn't able to help when I could," he said. Earlier this morning, Barnes found out friends who were in the club have died. U.S. President Barack Obama called the deadly shooting "an act of terror and an act of hate."
www.cbc.ca... 632264 The audio is a little way down ..

Part 1 At two a.m. on Sunday, Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida posted an urgent message online: "Everyone get out of Pulse and keep running." For dozens of people inside the LGBT club, it was too late We speak with the owner of a nearby LGBT club in Orlando -- who says the killer tried to "friend" him on Facebook just days ago, and may have originally planned to target his club instead. Jason Josaphat called his mother from inside the club when the shooting started. She didn't hear from him again. Daphne Josaphat shares her memories of her young nephew. Part 2 Orlando Imam Muhammad Musri hasn't just been publicly decrying the massacre -- he went to Pulse nightclub as soon as he heard. We'll find out why he went, why he stayed, and what he's learned so far. It's a jungle in there. So it took laser-scanning technology for archaeologists to make a mind-boggling discovery: a vast network of lost, centuries-old lost cities, hidden under the jungle floor of Cambodia.

Thanks. I'm having an issue with crossfire and what bullets were going where. It sounded like a whole storm of bullets..and the videos APPEAR to be recorded outdoor fire, but I'm not sure.

The amplitude and clarity so sound like it.

I'm also having an issue with hostages and reload events while all this was going on. It's so weird that one man had this much control on the environment for hours, while only possessing one trigger finger.

it's just amazing

according to the police, they busted through the outside wall where the restroom he was barricaded in with the hostages.
i saw one or two pictures of that wall, it had bullet holes surrounding it.

if they breached the wall and he started firing from inside the bathroom and they started firing back, that would explain part of the audio you hear.

Yes, that helps explain it if the recordings are the final takedown. I didn't know of this part. Thanks

What gets me is the rear shot they keep showing where LEO's breached the wall......all those lil white marks on the walls around those holes are bullet holes.....seems to be some LEO's with some serious bad aiming skills. More for a still camera shot & effect than trying to hit the guy shooting back at you.

Yeah those all appear to be inbound, lol. Cinder blocks too before drywall.

.223 for velocity? The entry holes appear larger.

Sorta don't make much sense to me. Just looks like a few guys just free fired that wall for a magazine or two.a reply to: BatheInTheFountain

if you've ever seen or looked at shoot out photos or seen combat photos you should know that in the heat of the moment all the practice in the world can and will fail in some.

as a gun owner you should know that.

I'm guessing/hoping that most of the rounds went IN that hole. But then, I can only guess there had to be some victims that caught a lot of LEO rounds.

How many people do you think were injured by the swat team? I mean they did crash an armored vehicle into the building to gain entry, I would imagine they had also injured people in the process. They will never release their bullet count or a battle damage assessment either.

I count about 30-32 holes just on the wall

That's part of me examining this. The forensics report might look "not so good"

In the era of LRAD & Sonic concussion grenades, flash bangs & all sorts of equipment the LEO's have at their disposal and their tactic is to wait OUTSIDE as folks are being killed. Kinda mind boggleing aint it.

And this was HOURS. I wonder what kind of Intel they had to gather to know where he was. Plus the possibility of advanced thermal / x-ray.....or sonic detection?
