The Associated Press is warning reporters to be careful after some threats were received from disgruntled Bernie Sanders supporters.

The threats were sent over social media, email, and phone calls.

AP is getting blame for showing Hillary Clinton had enough delegates to win the Democrat nomination a couple of days ahead of the June 7th primary elections in several states, particularly California.

I think many Sanders supporters are thinking the announcement from AP may have cost Bernie some votes.

Hopefully this will not trend into a bigger problem.

AP warns reporters to be safe after harassment from Sanders fans

The Associated Press is warning its reporters to stay vigilant after several received harassing messages from supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Danny Spriggs, the AP's vice president for global security, said some reporters have received angry emails, social media messages and phone calls after the AP declared Hillary Clinton the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

"We have not received any specific security threats," Spriggs said in an email to employees, according to Poynter. "It is always good to practice situational awareness around AP bureaus and offices."

The AP on Monday declared Clinton the Democratic nominee, saying she had enough pledged delegates and superdelegate support to reach the party's threshold for the nomination.

It is all rigged and 2016 has exposed the political process for the farce it truly is...AP is just part of the machine.

I almost feel sorry for AP reporters.

They should be able to do their jobs without having to worry about fringe wing loons.

Considering past events of the past eight years, and what has transpired the last few months at political events.

They should be concerned.

Sanders should be telling his 'fans' to cool their heels.

After all that is the responsible thing to do RIGHT?

I just hope there is not a revolution for socialism coming and I end up having to fight for freedom under our current terrible government. That would be worst case though.

Oh boo hoo! The AP has received emails, tweets, and phone calls after they announced Clinton won the nomination before the last Super Tuesday using the farce Super Delegates as her ticket to the winners circle. AP even admits no threats were made so this story is just AP's way of smearing Sanders supporters.

Guess AP is a snowflake organization who needs their safe place from criticism of what they call "journalism".

Go to Hell AP.

I wouldn't worry.

What could possibly go wrong?

There are really some classics in this video. I highly recommend watching the whole thing for the most
moments.

I agree it is sadly the only remaining solution.

It is the only hope for my grand children.

in regard to Hillary Clinton. She is supposed to be a 'Clinton Chronicler' for the paper, not a Clinton fangirl.

Three separate calls to her said the same thing? Odd. Looks like someone looking for retweets and attention.

Pretty easy for some to pose as a Supporter of any Candidate and become aggressive with an entirely different outcome in mind.

Without a doubt these Trump protestors are insane clueless morons. I really can't see them being Sanders supporters, they look more like a misinformed mob, paid or otherwise, sent to create havoc for the sake of creating havoc, while attaching unknown issues to their handler's target, Trump.

At least some of the Trump bashers on ats can make what appears to be a rational, but misinformed argument. The IQ level here seems to be considerably higher than on the street.

Cheers - Dave

Yes pretty easy for infiltrators.

Very easy for real supporters because they don't have to "act".

Could be a Hillary trick !!

AP made a huge error in creating news rather than reporting news. The timing of their "story" for which AP was the only source is also unforgivable and will shatter their credibility.

This was a horrible decision by any standard and needs thoroughly investigated. They, with this stupid timing and decision, hurt the credibility of all our reporters. Shame on them. Idiotic.

AP and FOX swing right more than tarzan can swing on a vine. Bad press of the opponents leads to exposure, exposure leads to votes, and votes lead to election. Its the Yoda philosophy.

I do, having been one. It is ranked as the worst job for good reason. The pay is horrible. Corporations have taken over and it has gotten even worse. Not everyone went with APs story and those that didn't are asking questions. Lots of questions need asked on why this story broke when it did. I do understand the frustration though.
