Good morning!!! It is so nice to see a new face!!! So glad that True lead you in our direction!!! If you read the first page of this thread Page 1 you will find a beautiful introduction from NightStar, our hostess.

Please feel free to find a comfy chair. The pixies should be by soon to bring you something to eat or drink. We have just about anything you could imagine. Watch the pixies, they are a bit ornery in the morning. I am usually the first up, others will be making their appearances later. So glad to have you join us!

Wow, between you and Quantum, I feel lucky to be here.

Pixies huh? I will watch my back, but then again so will they.

Thank you for the welcome and look forward to joining the conversations! And Quantum your comment means a lot as I really don't share that with anyone, but yes I understand where you are coming from and appreciate the gesture.

Welcome to The Shed! If you go to Page 1 of The Shed you will see a beautiful introduction from our hostess, NightStar.

In the meantime grab you a comfy chair, wrestle a pixie for a drink, and have a sit down. You are more than welcome to join us, just watch out for the strange parade of characters that will follow you around.

I see in your tag that you are a mine engineer. Cool, I live in coal country. Is it coal mining or another type of mining? And I LOVE cats!!!

Krypto, that was a lovely piece of prose.
You described how the Shed used to be, a sentiment much appreciated and missed.

I didn't know you had a soft side. So nice to see.
As a side note, I have been so absent and I don't think I ever said hello to you.
Hello Krypto.

Krypto described how The Shed is NOW I'm sorry YOU don't feel this way but MANY do.

Good morning! Seen any bear this morning? You will have to start taking your camera to see if you can get some good shots.

Seems like you all know each other pretty well, so i will give a little about myself:
Im a mine engineer from Mon -Thurs. I stay at a remote camp while at work. I recently started a new business - Aerial Surveying. So my Friday - Sundays have been jam packed with that.

Things are developing nicely. I hope to be able to eventually leave my current job and run my business full time.
Im currently writing a paper detailing an innovative UAV that i created. I will be presenting it in October at the Canadian Institute of Mining. Its a drone that enables a surveyor to stake out points hands free, and 3D maps underground.

Im in Northern Ontario Canada. Although beautiful, we still havent had a week above 20 degrees Celsius.

I love art.
My avatar is a Tiger i made out of wind up watch parts. I do a lot of steampunk art.

My wife is creating a fairy house. Its essentially a doll house but fairy themed. Using only items scavenged from the forest floor and glue.

I hope to engage in some great conversations here and potentially make some new friends.

Its a Palladium and Platinum mine. I never worked at a coal mine, but ive been to one. It is not a mining method that i would want to be responsible for lol.

I'm one of them...

I'm making a cameo appearance to point out that your Avatar mood says "destructive." So, when you say you like cats, I'm being nice and assuming you don't mean as a snack!

Play nice or you may find a selectively incontinent dragon flying overhead or a ClownFish biting your toe or a Cat Wizard's magic staff pointed your way, turning you to sushi...just long enough for you to grab a byte of your own tail!

Welcome!

Fishy

Thanks sweetie, yes Paul felt the need to share his stomach bug with me. Thankfully I didn't get it nearly as bad as he did. I'm still a bit zonked but feeling MUCH better. YES, AND bear spray!!!

Wow, you are busy!!!! I live in West Virginia in the heart of coal country. Don’t know how mining is going your way but the government is killing it here. Good that you have found another talent! Aerial Surveying, is that from a plane? That would be neat!!!! Your art is amazing!!! I had no idea YOU had made that tiger, AWESOME!!! And you just HAVE to share your wife’s house, OMG that sounds adorable!!!! I work in IT. I am a server administrator at a small community hospital.
