This was longer than I planned, lol. Sorry for the wall of purple!!! >.<

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

They had been wandering the caves for hours it seemed! Every twisted passageway and turned corridor they passed through seemed identical to the last; the walls were coated in those bioluminescent mushrooms, shimmering and shining brightly as they passed by. Though the fungi appeared mesmerisingly beautiful, Kaelci no longer stood as enchanted as she had been when she first saw the stunning displays. She only wished that these confusing tunnels would become more straight forward and lead her to her destination!

The robes that she wore felt unnaturally warm since Darien had activated the runes that were woven within, though warm the feeling was not unpleasant and the new potency she felt flowing around her body was almost delicious, she could taste a strange sweetness and her ears were filled with a low hum that seemed to emanate from her very garments.

She sullenly admitted to herself that it was suspicious that Sita had not told her about this; she had been led to believe that the majority of her power came from within, not from cloth imbued by the evoked blessings of the Gods. But surely it was all a mistake, Sita would not lead her astray… she remembered when they had first met! In the dream within the bowels of an evil mist creature. Sita had healed her, helped her, Kaelci had not felt any malicious intent whatsoever even during those apprehensive first moments. It all had to be a mistake.

Glancing out from the corner of her eye, she watched Darien shuffling alongside her, an aura surrounded him that seemed as sullen as what she felt inside. She didn’t quite understand why he had actually followed her; maybe her words had struck a chord somewhere deep within him, or maybe he was just wanting to determine Sita’s fate and was preparing to relish in her demise… though his brooding demeanour suggested otherwise.

Kaelci sighed inwardly and focussed on the path ahead, turning to the left as the passageway twisted ever downwards and suddenly led into a chamber that shone as bright as the very sun! She stood in shock, almost collapsing as Darien walked into her, openly staring astounded at the vision that lay before her. The room was as white as the full moon, shining brightly with what seemed a thousand candles, maroon rugs and golden cushions lay scattered upon the floor, and further along toward the back of chamber sat a silver throne, woven with pearls and gilded leaves, the silver witch seated snugly upon it, a smug smile dancing about her face as she purred. “Sweet Kaelci! Welcome, my dear. You too, dear Darien… welcome.”

Sita slowly climbed from the throne and glided towards them, her silver robes flowing majestically behind her, her long black hair seeming to billow about her head and frame her porcelain face, and she spoke haughtily as her pale blue eyes stared accusingly over them. “You two seem to have taken your time approaching this place… if I weren’t to know any better, I would assume that you left me alone to whatever fate awaited me, but here you are at last… clearly, I must be mistaken.”

Flushing guiltily, Kaelci remained spellbound and utterly wordless as she stared at the silver witch, listening intently as the witch continued speaking in her soft purr. “But I am not mistaken, am I? You see, this is Azothinne’s inner sanctum… He brought me to this place, showed me the world through His eyes, nothing escapes Him… not even the two of you hiding within the depths of a hidden crevice, watching and waiting for me to pass by, listening to my screams as I was taken, and then leaving! How dare you. The both of you.”

The silver witch turned from them and strode toward the centre of the chamber, raising her long arms into the air and clapping sharply three times, the echoes of the claps sounding as sharp as cracks of thunder as a shadow manifested before Sita, growing larger and larger and towering toward the ceiling. Her smug voice continued to purr softly as the shadow grew larger and wider and slowly became solid. “Azothinne is here, and He has made me His consort, I am His Queen! I am filled with a power that I have always desired… and you will both pay for your transgressions!”

The giant shadow burst into being, a spider larger than anything she could ever have imagined! His hundred eyes glowed red and the hairs that covered his body bristled in the chill of the air, green poison dripped from his massive fangs and she stood transfixed, mindless, as his gleaming eyes drew her into them and enticed her breathing to slow.

Sita’s melodious laughter bounced along each shining wall, a happiness unthinkably pure tinging the very essence of that which lay within, and not even Darien’s firm grasp upon her arm could enable her escape from the lull. She felt herself being pulled along the passageways, her feet dragging along the floor, weighted heavily as the great sleep tried to overrun her body and soul. She could sense Darien’s failing strength, the fear that exuded from the man, Sita’s laughter following them whichever way they went, and she knew that their end was near.

Tiredly, she allowed her eyes to close and her mind to drift into the void.

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!! Giant powerful spiders!!!!!!

Kaelci, your talent for writing in such a way to lure one in and be left breathless and prickly and desperate for the next chapter is awe inspiring!

You are a blessing to the world and to the Shed!

I loved this pic!

I have an Aunt in FL who's 102 (I think! Can't remember, don't feel like going on FB!)...
She had LOTS of kiddos and I imagine her looking around at all of the generations she began thinking this.

She has a wicked sense of humor and a sharp wit!
My favorite of all by far!

Morning lady!

And to everyone else have a lovely day!

I'm about to head off to dreamland, but had to thank you both for your words first! *hugs*

And yes, Birdie! You are strange, LOL. But never fear, you aren't alone. My uncle was like you... I remember waiting at the train station with him when I was a child, and he let a hand-sized spider crawl onto his palm, he lifted it up, admired it, and then put his hand back down and let it scurry away.

I was mortified!! lol!

Thankfully I haven't had a spider experience since that time in the garage with the little claws on my shoulder. *shivers*.

Martin! That old granny picture, I saw that in the funny pic thread and giggled
How fitting that you got a similar photo! Hehehehe.

Okie, I'm off for the night.
Goodnight everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful day!
*hugs for everyone!!*

Okay so just thought I'd share a little useless information.

I was feeling slightly inspired this morning (emphasis on slightly) and thought I'd go back and reread our stories from previous Shed threads.
I believe I left off in Shed 4. It wasn't good so I've no issues (really) with starting over but, I DID so want to take my character on an adventure through the woods. I think that's sort of where I was headed. (?)
Understanding that I am a ninny and didn't save it (any of my story)...It is now unobtainable.

You all may be aware of the fact that we can no longer go back and view the Shed # 4 but I was not.

I thought perhaps I could get to it from the Forums page/General Chit Chat/Shed 4.
Nope.
So, I attempted to get to it from my posting history.
Nope. (that only goes as far back as April 24)
Now, one might think that they can go to the 'author of the thread's' page and catch the train from there.
Nope
I didn't try all of the Sheds only # 4. Which has seemed to have completely and utterly disappeared.
I did try Shed # 2 from the author's page and was permitted to view it.

So, in conclusion, I am assuming the Shed # 4 was carrying substantial 'weight' (heavy laden with stuff) and had to be removed from the board. I get it. I just wish that I had known prior.

It is my own fault (my disappointment) for failing to prepare properly for all potential outcomes.

Anyhow, just thought it may interest some of you.

If anyone has any ideas about how the Shed 4 could be accessed at this point, I'm all ears.

Yes Jess!
It does stink but...it could be for the best in the end.

Everything happens for a reason IMO.

As for our friend. I feel deeply for him. Having been surrounded by many addicts of all kinds my entire life I can empathise with how difficult his journey will be.

I PMd my (feeble attempt) at support and wish him all the luck and strength in the world.

I hope all of us Shedlandians (Is that the word today? LOL) can support him and give him the positive vibes that Imagine he could use right now.

Cover him with wings of love!
