Gooooodd Mooooorrrnnning Shedlands! It is early morning and the Sun is shining outside with some clouds hanging about. The world out there is mad, mad I tell you! People kicking and clawing over food and water and politics. However that is a foreign land; in the Shedlands the Sheddites are marching and celebrating in the name of good. Fires are lit, wine is being drunk. So let us enjoy this morning with a nice old tune.

Just been out and around taking photos and video over the past several days.

Thundering towards a crew swap at Russell, Kentucky for a run towards Columbus, Ohio. A bare table train races west along the Kanawha Sub with a great friend of mine at the throttle.


Being one who loves diesel locomotive horns that are either old, sound fantastic, or both. With that being said, nothing sounds like a good sounding Leslie Controls RS5T. Making their way towards a destination of Cincinnati, Ohio. CSX 7703 is seen as it slowly makes its way through Saint Albans, West Virginia.



Received a heads up yesterday of a couple of specially painted Amtrak units coming through on the westbound Cardinal yesterday. After getting a hold of a couple of friends of mine and heading to an all to familiar spot. We wound up at Hawks Nest State Park once again to get some photos and video of Amtrak's "Phase III" heritage and their veterans unit coming across the 100+ year old bridge between the north and the south banks of the New River.

Wanted to come on yesterday to say Happy Fathers day to all...including all the moms pulling double duty!

My youngest made me almost cry yesterday. She gave me a present all wrapped up. I opened it and inside was a pair of work gloves and a nice little poem. On the inside of those gloves was her hand prints.

Im going to have them framed and hang them in my office at work here.

hello all...i would just like to post this for syx...
I am a happy person today as its been 24 years mike and i have been married...so i like to say happy anniversary to a wonderful guy...who has put up with me for so long..we have had our fights so bad i thought a divorce was going to happen..but i am so glad it never did...he is wonderful to me..i know i would be so lost with out him..i would do any thing for him..he promised me when we meet 29 years ago we would get married...if we was still together after 5 years..well we was..so when the time came i asked him so when are we going to get married...i picked the day and every thing..he just went along with it..that make me happy..when we meet i never thought we would be together after i said we are going to have baby....thought he would run out on me like all the other guys have...but he stayed cause he knew it was the right thing to do..he didnt want me doing it a lone again..and he was there the whole time for me and the baby...i am glad i pick him and i am glad he stayed..Happy Anniversary to you Hun..I love you with all my heart and soul..

hi...when i burn i only burn once then it tans...i hope its not a bad sun burn cause those ones so suck...i remember when syx and i meet...i was so so red..and it so hurt for him to even touch me but i would let him...i didnt want him to run away...he put that green stuff on me and man it so helped...i think i had second degree burns but i cant remember back 29 years..right now..just know it hurt like hell...i was on fire..maybe stay out of sun for a day or so..

Good morning dwellers of the shed.

Today I go on a flight to Anchorage Alaska for some work training.

I'll try and get some sweet non upside down pictures from up there because its a beautiful flight.

Getting here to the airport where I work actually, was an adventure.

I've been having truck issues and I wasn't supposed to turn my truck off when I stopped at the store because my battery keeps dying.

Well I did and I had to be here to check in in five minutes.

Luckily I had my wife's custom long board. I just locked up and started hauling ass on that board. It was pretty fun and I made it here in perfect timing.

I was stressing out pretty bad at first.

Now my truck is just sitting at the store though I gotta figure that out when I get home.

I hope nobody messes with it.

I used to work up in the arctic myself. Working for an exploration company. I by Cambridge Bay Nunavut, just outside an Inuit community.
Asides from the cold, its simply just amazing scenery up there. I was part of a caribou count one time. We set grids on the windows of the plane. The pilot would fly perpendicular to the herd and we would take pictures of the grid on the window. 1 square was accounted for 10 caribou. We would see herds of hundreds of them at a time.
Another time, we flew the helicopter threw an glacier carved canyon. We got close enough to the walls to see the Perigran falcon nests. We then counted the eggs. At times we got so close i thought we were going to hit the walls. But our pilot was an ace.

I loved working up there, but being away from the family for such long periods was horrible.
