How much does your religion suck? Check inside

First, if your religion has ever caused any large wars you can skip the rest of the topic, your religion sucks. Looking at you, catholicism and Islam ( branches within)

If your religion teaches of a loving and caring Christ and God, but condemns all to hell if they don't identify with that religion, or claim to be the only path to heaven, deeming a Gods love as not enough - your religion sucks.

If you discriminate based on some vague interpretation of some words in a book, your religion sucks.

If fear of punishment is why the people within comply to any of the rules, or whatever else - your religion sucks.


Now you might think I'm being overly critical and painting with a very broad brush but this isn't the case. I do think there's great religious people out there. If your religion promotes peace, love, acceptance, tolerance, and does not assume all within are going to heaven and all not within to hell, if any religion emulates the love they believe their God to have - your religion is just fine.

Of course there are nice non religions people out there, those who don't want to bicker and cause animosity, then their are others

Oh I realize non-secular and atheist people killed the most people in history. I didn't say non religious people were great, I just felt like ranting about this side of the coin today

People should believe what works for them. I get along fine without religion, but I don't begrudge others their beliefs. Life is hard enough without all of us picking on each other on the meaning of life when no one else can answer that question for someone else. Everyone has different life experience which explains the diversity of belief.

Some of you may be wondering what religion I'm talking about.

Well keep wondering. The only thing revealing that will do is open myself up to the most vile and vicious hatred, which is just not on my itinerary today. It has become nigh impossible to respectfully discuss religion here (and most other places, internet or not) anymore.

How much does my religion suck? By your own criteria it doesn't.

There's no religion, or lack thereof, that hasn't horribly tortured or killed lots of people. People just like to pretend that their chosen vice is innocent and force all the blame onto their perceived enemy.

Anything done by humans is bound to be rife with hypocrisy and bias.

Oh, I respect religious of all kinds. Even satanism used to be somewhat honorable until some half-wits took over and deemed themselves the prophets of the new type.

Sometimes it's the people within. Muslim is a very peaceful and loving religion - but some of modern days worst crimes against humanity are also committed by them.

Therefore, the Muslim religion sucks. Not all within, suck, though. And I respect you even if you are a Muslim, as I'm not blind. I know there are peaceful and loving Christians, Muslims, and other types of religions.
