Pagan's aren't "Satanic". Satan is a Christian deity, who opposes "God" in a dualistic system. In Judaism, Satan is humanity's accuser, tester and prosecuting attorney, who is a servant of "god".

Pagan religions generally tend to personify various facets of nature through their deity's personalities. They don't worship Satan.

I read an interpretation of the show by a reviewer who said that the symbolism represented the opening of the deepest tunnel ever built, relating it to the opening of the deepest secrets and mysteries of the underworld and the illusive subunconscious.

Im just at a loss as to where the evil conspiracy is. Its an opening ceremony just like the one in France last night for the Euros. They happen quite frequently. They are symbolic as they are an artistic creation.
