Nigeria says it has seized more than $US10.3 billion ($A14.25 billion) in loot in the past year under President Muhammadu Buhari's anti-corruption campaign. Information Minister Lai Mohammed says the government also expects repatriation of $US330 million stolen from the public treasury and stashed in banks abroad. Most is in Switzerland. Mohammed's statement on Saturday did not include names of accused officials, though the government had promised to publish them. He said the funds include $US583.5 million recovered in cash and $US9.7 billion in cash and assets under interim forfeiture including sea-going vessels, buildings and land. Hundreds of people have been arrested and the many ongoing trials include that of a former national security adviser accused of diverting $US2.1 billion meant to fight the Boko Haram Islamic insurgency.
Well this goes to show that not all muslims in power are corrupt. Good to see this president is an "anti-corruption" guy, maybe it will be a lesson to the corrupter's in power in the rest of Africa, and there are many.www.news.com.au...

What does muslims in power have to do with anything?
Are you implying muslim leaders are more corrupt than than the self serving scum we have in the west or what they put up with in Asia?

What did the politicians religion have to do with anything?

Im no muslim apologist but on ATS today Ive found myself defending muslims twice due to ignorance of the OP.

Its comments like yours in the OP that makes most of us with genuine concerns look like racist bigots.

Nigeria, like many African nations, is an amazingly corrupt place. Not just the vast corruption that taps money out of oil into the hands of a few officials, but at all levels of society, including the police, the military and local civil society.

Politicians in Nigeria have played lip service to fighting corruption, so let's hope this guy (why is his religion important) is able to actually do something.
