www.cnn.com...

Redding, California (CNN)Donald Trump sought to tout his support among African-Americans on Friday by pointing out a black man in the crowd and calling him "my African-American."
"Oh, look at my African-American over here. Look at him," Trump said. "Are you the greatest?"

The remark didn't generate a noticeable response from Trump's audience.

Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks told CNN Trump was "just referring to a supporter in the crowd. There's no ill will intended, obviously." She added Trump was "grateful for this person's support."
Hicks also rejected the suggestion that Trump's use of the possessive "my" to refer to the supporter was racist, saying such a charge was "ridiculous."

Trump's remark came as he recalled an incident in March when a black supporter of his assaulted a protester at a rally in Arizona as he was being escorted out of the building by police.

The comment also comes as Trump is under fire for calling on the federal judge presiding over one of the lawsuits against Trump University to recuse himself because of his Mexican heritage.

Trump again argued Friday in an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper that the judge is inherently biased against him because of the presumptive GOP nominee's plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

This is really beyond the pale.

And not because I think he meant it as racist but because he is so obtuse, he can't even conceive that it's a stupid thing to say or even get the racial overtones due to the history of slavery in the U.S.

How can this guy be President? His mouth keeps getting in the way.

I've honestly never seen anyone get this much media attention in my life.

Worldwide too.

Pretty genius if you ask me.

And, what may even be more dangerous, is that when he is invariably called out on it, he is so arrogant that he will double-down and refuse to walk it back. That's not leadership.

Right now, his talking heads are out on the news channels defending this.

I wonder if Paul Ryan is regretting his op-ed of yesterday?

A black Trump supporter, Pastor Darrell Scott, actually just said on CNN that he believes it was used as a "term of endearment". WTH!?

So what, he could have called him "my n-word" too? This crazy.

I know a lot of people who are racist when they think no one can hear them, and they'll say things like:

"I'm not racist! I have a black friend!"

or

"I'm not bigoted, I know a guy who's gay!"

Like its somehow impossible to harbor hateful/hurtful/narrow-minded opinions and thoughts simply because someone of a particular minority you don't respect passed through your life.

And then talked about how he punched a guy at his rally.

Violence from both sides, people need to grow up.

I'm sure you're correct. But I hope you don't think that's an ethical campaign strategy.

What makes Trump popular is that he is REAL. He hasn't had 40 years of practice to polish his political game and it is damn refreshing. Even you know what he meant so really you are just making a big deal out of nothing at all.

Nah the real problem is that you can't say anything anymore without offending anyone. It's a joke. Own your feelings and stop forcing your pc bull# down everyone throat.

I can say whatever I want and not mean something making a statement like I've quoted above can only offend the offended, anyone with half a brain in their head won't be made to feel inferior by those statements they will just think, "whatever".

The Pastor referenced above just lost it on CNN. Said that another CNN analyst, Tara Setmayer, also black, was calling him basically a token. She dropped the mic on him and said, no, Donald Trump is by pointing out the one black guy in the crowd.

Trump has misspoke a few times during this campaign, but this one is absolutely hilarious. Finally, a president that can rival the hilarious George W Bush

It is a big deal that after a year of campaigning he either can't or won't reign the ill-conceived, off-the-cuff bloviating that keeps causing drama and alienating a percentage of the population. A percentage THAT HE NEEDS TO WIN.

Can he learn? Can he not adapt?

If not, he probably isn't fit to be President.

Exactly what I was thinking! When did words become sticks and stones? Why are people allowing other peoples thoughts to define them? I hate everyone, I don't care if they hate me back.

dailycaller.com...

I like how she laughs off the one guys remark. She is not talking to them, she is asking if it is working...fake bitch.

The GOP is going down in flames at the moment. Paul Ryan is looking like a horse's rear end for endorsing Trump.

Great job Trump alienate two of one of the largest voting blocks in the US. Women and minorities.

If your an African American which candidate of which party should you vote for?

He couldn't have just said "My African-American friend"?

Instead, he claimed ownership of him. But, as Xuenchen said, it's just going to get him more votes. People are dumb. We truly deserve Trump.
