from what I have read at international news sites not very much seems that Bush has red neck support at home which is good for him, but America seems to be not in step

I seem to get the impression that the "regular people" in a lot of nations think the US has overstepped its bounds. I'm inclined to agree.

...but the big question is: Does America give a flying fudge what the world thinks??

Absolutely it does.

Under PNAC the US needs to bribe, influence, manipulate, cajole and bomb the crap out of misaligned countries with the full co-operation of second and third rate partners in order to achieve its objectives.

I personally can't see it happening, and I think educated Americans don't really support the PNAC agenda, but I would still like them to get rid of their imbecile turd 'president'.

No Amerika does not. However Amerika is not the people;it is the twisted, perverted, crap eating politicians that control our nation and illiterate populace. We are listed as 17th in education in the industrial world although we are the wealthiest. Amerika is surrepressing its people. It has for decades if not centuries. There is a plan, I know not from where it stems, however, it is dark and seedy and will consume many before it is defeated.
Our music has portrayed the evolution of this wickedness
however the only ones to hear it were the 'Rolling Stones"
"Have Sympathy for thr Devil"

I'm looking forward to this program.

There is a big difference between the American people and the current American Administration.

Just because I think Bush and co are a danger to the world it doesn't mean all Americans should be judged the same.

Most Americans I know are normal decent people who are very aware that the actions of their country today will be reflected in the history books tomorrow. They are just as stuck with their government as everybody else.

It's funny that democracy can be so undemocratic. It is a guilded cage.

Criticism of the US Government is not Criticism of the US people. The world is not Anti-American just Pro-World.

Hey, I don't think The US minds you all beating up on us. We've always had broad shoulders. Don't pick on poor New Zealand.

"Criticism of the US Governement is not criticisim of the US people."

I can understand this, being from the US, but I think one tends to forget that the average US citizen, does indeed, take US Government criticism as a criticism on the US people.

Saw this on BBC today so I decided to hijack it and start the same discussion here

Land of the free, home of junk food, or global policeman: What do you think of America?
The USA's role in the world is being discussed in a unique global television debate hosted by the BBC.

news.bbc.co.uk...

So, since we have a good spread of nationalities here, what do you think?

here's what i tell my family... i love america, this place is the best

here's the truth... america blows. i hate this place, and all the lazy people that allow people to become slaves to the system, they don't fight back, they know, yet no matter how much they see, they do nothing, they sit on their ass and cry about food shortage. but wait, we haven't a food shortage. how can people be bored! there is so much to repair, so much to reveal, yet we do nothing. i hate america. for destroying our will.

I love America. Its the greatest nation on earth, and nothing can replace it. I'd never want to move to another country. Were else can you enjoy so much freedom and love? God Bless America.

I challenge Americans to view their country from the outside looking in

This is what they will see

A country that ignores the UN, invades countries based on lies, uses it economical strength to blackmail and get anything it desires, Has a president who didn't even get elected and not capable of speaking his own language, who is in control of the worlds most powerful military, and a country that goes on its own path from the world (Kyoto)

You all must remember Americans are the leaders of this planet, and if they go on a war based policy... they will drag the world down that dark path also

Everybody gets confused with the difference between government and country. Hardly anyone has a problem with the country itself (in terms of what it belives in and stands for in principle) or the people. It's the Governments and what they do that everyone hates.

Anyway, the programmes on in five minutes im going to watch it while im here.

The blurb from my T.V mag:

What the world thinks of America.

Not a lot right now would be the immediate answer. Andrew Marr hosts a discussion with top-ranking panellists, including Clare Short and Benazir Bhutto, while Peter Snow hops around the place presenting charts, diagrams and all manner of squiggly graphs which detail an internatonal poll.

Wahey! Peter Snows in it. The mad old fruit.
It could be good if they do it right and use reliable polls and info. I'll let you know what the consensus is.
