If I'm ever in your subconscious, you should probably reformat your hard drive.

Ah yes, let us politicize it! Never let a tragedy go to waste.
Or is that only if we talk about how guns are an issue...

I'm not politicizing it in the least, I'm just stating my opinion based on the facts of the area in which the tragedy occurred. Is it not poignant to discuss how people in schools might be better equipped to protect themselves against these crazy individuals that disregard numerous laws in order to act on their sick desires to murder people?

I mean, a 4-year-old climbs into a gorilla exhibit in a zoo in my backyard, and everyone sees fit to discuss better ways to deal with the situation. If we don't discuss these instances and try to find ways to avoid or at least limit the unnecessary outcomes, then we as a society are ignoring reality and ways to better ourselves as a whole.

What would you rather me do, just say, "Aww, that sucks," and move on? That seems pointless and unintelligent, and I don't only approach gun issues in this manner. If you're offended by my comments--get over it. If you want to actually discuss it, then let's do it constructively.

But, yes, I know--silly me, discussing guns when two people were killed using a gun in a gun-free zone. The audacity of me!

Did anyone else read his name as "Maniak" first time round?

What, anti gun folks don't like it when their own tactics are used by the pro 2nd?
Any other shooting, the anti side would be out in force, using it as an example of "guns are bad". Just wondering aloud when the other side is going to figure out "gun free zone" only stops those who actually obey the law.

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to know about this code that was allegedly stolen. IIT produces some of the sharpest minds and it wouldn't surprise me if his work was in fact stolen. Could it have been some military grade stuff? The next multi billion dollar start up?

Don't these schools do any kind of vetting or back ground checks on who attends these schools before they're admitted? More and more lunies in the schools and the schools apparently don't know of it or do anything about it.

That's weird to me.

Sure you are, half of what you said have zero to do with the situation and was just ramblings about how a gun free zone, which really has nothing to do with anything and of course how more guns solves the problem. Would you consider anyone talking about how this is just more evidence of your gun problems just a discussion?

The gun free zone didn't seem to be part of the motive since he targeted someone one who he felt had wronged him. You guys just always over look that part, rarely is the targeted not connected to the shooter in some personal way.

You are right, they do. And you all jump on them for politicizing and not waiting for the bodies to get cold before spewing thier agenda. Why do you think it being a gun free zone had anything to do with this guy doing what he did?

Gun free zones and more guns solve the problem are still agendas.
I'm not anti gun btw, I couldn't care less if you want one.

Can't find the thread about the 69 people shot in Chicago over Memorial Day. Oh well... that's old redundant news anyways.

Because he became room temperature after the suicide part of the murder/suicide.
You can also say he is a former living organism.

They found a kill list which listed two professors and another person's name. Evidently, he couldn't find the other professor. But the other person turned out to be his girlfriend/wife/ex-wife? The news has changed on her relationship with him but I think it is his ex-wife. Because of the list, she was found shot dead in Minnesota.

This tweet indicates it was because of intellectual property.

I've also read "For UCLA shooter Mainak Sarkar, sudden rage after years of intense academic studies, Los Angeles Times‎"

Could it be, he was mentally ill and committed murder/suicide simply because he was.....mentally ill? This took some planning and some time to carry out.

Here is more about him from this site www.everipedia.com...

He had been failing his education since for years already and was already on the same course for 2/3 years longer then others ever had. I doubt he was delivering brilliant work or he would not have flunked it so often.

If it was a "gun free zone" then doesn't the fact that he was walking around with a gun and shooting show you that gun free zones don't work.

There is no mentioning of him having deep mental problems

He was also acting purposeful and clearly on target

Someone who is jealous doesn't express gratitude he was thankful for having him as a mentor

There is no mentioning of him failing studies it is normal that after you finish a masters you work on your phd along with working in field that's exactly where he was at

He would be blaming the whole system not focus on particular person he was his teaching assistant

There is something else to that story especially with that female victim in the picture but yes all up it sounds like on some psycho level

Regardless of the gun free zone it's completely irrelevant

He was ready to kill him with anything

Lets see, States that have open carry laws where you can carry a gun and in wide view of everyone. Loads of days that nobody gets shot anywhere. People there carry a gun everyday and everywhere. Nobody gets shot.

Now lets have a look at gun free zones. The moment somebody brings a gun into that area what is the intention?

..To use it.

Against all the people of which they know are not carrying a gun since they know they are the only ones.

3. A Source Says Sarkar Was A "Subpar Student" And His Accusation Was "Absolutely Psychotic"

A UCLA source familiar with both men told the LA Times that Sarkar was a "subpar student" and refuted his accusations as "absolutely untrue" and "psychotic."

"The idea that somebody took his ideas is absolutely psychotic," the source told the LA Times, adding, "Bill was extremely generous to this student, who was a subpar student. He helped him out and interceded for him academically."

He was also not grateful. He recently was heard saying that Klug is a sick person according to him.
