Police Respond To Reports Of Shooting At UCLA Engineering Building

Reports of a shooting happened shortly before 10 a.m. at Boelter Hall. The entire campus was placed on lockdown and students were told to shelter in place.

A university-wide alert system for parents and students sent out a warning to students over Twitter at 9:58 a.m. local time.

The school's official Twitter accounts said the shooting took place at UCLA's Boelter Hall. Police and first responders are still arriving on the scene

According to what's being reported on CNN, it doesn't look as though the shooter is in custody and everyone is of course being told to shelter in place.

If I absolutely had to guess, it's a 18-25 year old virgin who is socially inept and sexually frustrated. That seems to be a common trait.

Why do people have to go around shooting kids that want an education.... some of us wish for death on the daily, but no they go shoot the innocent college kids.... smh

sorry that was a bit dark, just tired of these kids getting killed and having their futures taken from them.

Perhaps because it is "easy pickings" at a college campus. Pretty good chance there is nobody around to stop you, other than the campus cops. And if you know their schedule, it makes it even easier.

Didn't this person know it is a gun free zone?

For some strange reason, they haven't quite figured out the only folks who obey the law when it comes to gun free zones, are those of us who are law abiding citizens and mean no one harm. They still think it works like a force field for bad guys.
And they keep being proven wrong.

Throw in the stress of finals and sometimes a person just cracks.
College isn't for everyone but some find out too late.

I hope this ends peacefully. It could be connected to Milos event that was there yesterday that had a bomb threat called in on.
