Nope, don't care.

But you do obviously care. You care - a lot

You replied didn't you? You have a need to make sure that people know how not bothered you are

This is a public forum for posting opinions, thoughts, philosophy and advice.

The premise of the original post was that 'crazy' is a trigger word that we should care about.

I disagree with that premise, and project apathy to the idea a writer is upset about a word.

I further elaborate that an adult human human being controls how they react to words. My advice is to grow up and learn that words only have power that you give them.

Then you try to project some narrative that fits into your paradigm and supposedly counters my response in some way you think is clever.

It's constant - and obvious - and obviously untrue

Replying in a public forum does not equate to sympathy or concern.

You least of all are in a safe position to claim that words have no effect on you

I am in a position to post my opinion.

In this case I do care about presenting how silly your argument is.

Your protest might be construed as complaining. Otherwise I might as well say that I'm not complaining either, obviously you have some kind of problem with us complaining since you're criticising us. It's all semantics.

Ha! We're calling out this person on her bull#, I guess you're selective about what constitutes calling people out on bull#.

I don't disagree with that, it's an ad-hominem attack. But this person is taking the ever so popular victim mentality to a whole new level, actively trying to be offended, if actively going out of your way to be offended is not crazy in some sense I don't know what is. At the very least it is mentally unhealthy.

Stop f*cking making things up, nothing about us complaining is indicative of a victim mentality. [snipped]

What protest, and where do i make stuff up, to call someone crazy because there opinion is different is a joke, free speech and all.

I must have offended you, like i said earlier i have a safe place for sale, hurry up, it might be gone really soon.

You need to quit. I for one don't think it's cute.

But that's fine I think I made my point.

Are you telling me to shut up? No - you were telling two of us to shut up - isn't that right?

It was you that wrote this:

The point is that while it is noble, maybe even sweet that you might wish to show, in typical playground fashion, the hurt and the pain that was caused by someone calling out your tenderness, it is not all that WISE. It is the hurt and the pain of a semi intellectual who now seems to think it is smart to incite violence in favor of maybe, as childish, hurt semi intellectual point. I'm going to ask you to think about this. Is it really necessary? I'm going to tell you straight quick to get in touch with yourself because no one you are baiting or chiding fears you, if you were to admit it you already know this, and I'll even concede that some folks can actually BE violent. And yes spira-person-whatever, I wrote this, "because I care." So if you got me on that I'd lose more "faith" in your intelligence as a person than I had in the first place. It's not about baiting a person. THINK. I do.

Are you not in favor of people expressing themselves in a manner that you don't approve of? Or is it that you know better - and that's that?

Interesting

:-)

Where's my safe space? I don't see it.

You yourself said nothing new, or nothing of substance. That whole paragraph is vague claptrap, you're not pointing to anything of substance in my behaviour. What's been pre-chewed? I'm not prepared to think? You have no way of knowing that. What can't I be bothered to think about?

I have a problem with cultural Marxism and all of its various manifestations. Safe spaces is just a tiny part of it. Besides, there's nothing generally and truly unsafe for them on the college campuses. What's the use? There's no need for it. It's an exercise in being demanding and getting what you want for your particular identity group. It's self serving nonsense coming from an entitled generation that has been raised to think they're entitled to whatever the hell they want.

Pfft, vague pseudo-philosophical bullsh*t..

I don't even recall you, duke or anyone else saying that it was a good idea to use different adjectives... just that the sky wasn't falling to contemplate such or because someone simply suggested doing so.

Cultural Marxism is something some crazy person came up with and crazy people insist exists. You want a 1950s society we get it, you don't need to invent new, fancy, crazy terms.

Speaking of posts without substance..

Oh hey, why are YOU of all people calling people crazy.. didn't you get the memo? That was what this thread was about after all, crazy is off limits now. Update your newspeak dictionary before you get in trouble with the Stasi.

Cultural Marxism is a reality, it is the leading ideology in the Western World. Its influence spans all aspects of society. That is by any definition not a made up thing.

I have to: LOL

What I heard were the words semi intellectual

Why, I do believe those were intended to be trigger words :-)

Anyhow...whenever someone pulls out those big guns - we know what they're really on about

That is one mighty huge safe space we're talking about right there

As I said to Ketsuko... put your big girl panties on. One person questioning the way we use a word doesn't give them the power to legislate language nor edit the dictionary. Quit being so freaking absurd.

I feel like most of these people who want to police words never had a minute of social interaction in their life.

They give words so much power.

What do you do when someone calls you a name you don't like?

You f**king own it. Make it yours.

Whining about it doesn't solve anything.

Of course you don't - that's how safe you are

But we snowflakes see it - just don't you worry

Cute

You have a problem with ideas that don't line up with yours. While pretending to defend intellectual freedom - what you actually are trying to do is avoid all discussion

Safe

It's indicative of a trend.

If this was the only example of similar absurd situations you might have had a point, but it isn't. It is part of a culture that has completely taken over academia. Don't tell me there aren't millions of similar situations all over the World.

It is a culture in universities and colleges that relies on emotion instead of reason, on bullying instead of debate. It is a problem and we are speaking up about it.
