You know what threads are even MORE tedious and redundant? All the ones complaining about the dirge of trans threads on ATS.

Because ATS push MSM agenda by default. They don't mean to (I hope) but current membership dictates.

I have noticed this too. Also, awhile ago the ads on ATS used to be Ford trucks, and things of that nature. But lately I am seeing very trashy ads for dating sites and such. These aren't the typical dating site ads, no.. They are very provocative and borderline soft core pornish. What IS going on?

I just ignore the topics. I was contributing to the discussion but it's worn out. Like others, I don't come here to have morality debates on subjects that probably shouldn't be on here in the first place. Call or label me whatever, but I don't give two sh#ts about others sexual preferences.
Plenty of net porn out there to satisfy anyone's curiosity if they so choose. Personally, I'm not curious at all.

move along people, nothing has changed, only perceptions. Click the cross-hair in my sig, and you can pick nearly any date after 9/11 to see what was ATS like. Although the topics and the names have changed, and the community population has increased, the divisive bickering is still present as far back as one wishes to research. PERCEPTION!

The more people join and start topics of their choosing, the more people will 'perceive' that there is a sudden increase in hostility or agenda pushing. I would say the physical numbers are up, but not the rate (%) of certain topics or hostility. Hell, just go back to 2005 after Bush was inaugurated. And people THEN thought it had ever been more divisive. It was worse than now IMO.

Last week, I was getting 1 pop up ad for the movie "The Bite". I watched it, it was not great, but it was ok for a 1 time watch. The pop up ad I see occasionally, now, is for cuccumber flavored vodka- but that one appears above the control panel, so just clicking 'new' or something makes it go away. No need to 'X' it out.

If you are not logged in, you will see many flat 'imbedded' ads. I see none of those.

If you are on your phone, your ISP is responsible for a lot of ads.

I don't ever see ads anymore when I am logged in.

True, the ones I mentioned happen upon logging in and it is just 1 per day. Possibly a second one if I move from the desktop downstairs to the laptop upstairs, and get auto logged out, occasionally.

Yes there has always been slumps, there have always been the annoying political badgering but in the last year or so I feel there has been a real shift in what ATS is.

ATS should be a conspiracy forum first and foremost however its not a conspiracy forum any more. ATS has transformed into more of a forum of social commentary with a few conspiracy forums in the mix. Its became way more mainstream and much less "alternative" there has been a real shift in the identity of ATS, we are no more a conspiracy forum than any other forum these days but strangely still tries to be a conspiracy forum. Good members are leaving or posting less, there are more and more new member who join up but seem more interested in discussing gender issues or health fads than discussing stuff like UFO's, 9/11, Secret Societies and the such.

The blame for this is both the members and the owners, I really do think that ATS has tried to expand too much, tried to attract newer members who don't take conspiracies as seriously as those of us who have been around for 5 or 6 years.

Its a shame really but this place is really going down the proverbial toilet.

I agree..I joined ATS to find out more about conspiracies, UFOs, global issues...and all of a sudden this is turning into a let's go gay and trans...I think there are other forums on the internet where you can share your thoughts on this subject matter. I am not trying to be ignorant on this subject, but if this starts turning into a "Trans Right Matter" movement, I am going to throw my hat in the ring

I find the home and live pages..even MY ATS.. doesnt present the most recently started and in what topics sections/forums. First-I CHOOSE to go to the NEW leaf forum. Always have.

Ive seen the same headers/subjects/news for a day or more without changing, whereas the topics change in NEW minute to minute all throughout the day and night.

Perhaps the Home/Live/My ATS pages stay pretty much the same stories for days at times, because I never sign out or in on either my pc's, phone or laptops.

I stay signed/logged in here...

From now on i shall hit the 'forums' tab and go from there... only problem with doing that is I might miss something important on the 'new' topics section which may have been posted in the wrong forum.

I look in NEW too.

But, when "they" keep talking about the Old Days - - - "they" should check in FORUMS for older interesting threads/subjects that could be resurrected.
